now i have some freinds who werent to happy with the tf movie because pretty much all the g1 tfs die, including optimus even though he comes back. i kind of felt the same way but it wasnt so bad b/c i really like hotrod and he remains one of my favorites.

 

i recently received the headmasters, masterforce and victory dvd sets. im sure youve all seen them on ebay at least once. im not even halfway through headmasters and im mortified! optimus dies again. cybertron gets blown up. galvatron dies. rodimus, kup and blur reliquish power to cerebros(fort max) and like run away! wtf?! and if youve all seen rebirth (pretty much the end of the american g1 series) they introduced the four new autobot headmasters and three new decepticon headmasters. this is who we're left with once cybertron is gone and the rest of the movie cast (hotrod ect.) is gone. i mean theyre hardly even interesting characters.

 

lets say you're a writer: do you just say "what? cybertron? man im sick of that. i think ill blow it up." cybertron has been a part of the story for so long. they talk about like its existed for millions upon millions of years and with all the stories of the war raging andconstant struggle for control of their home planet... and now its just gone. it just seems kind of pointless.

 

anyone have any opinions?

I ordered those sets and I'm still waiting. I have seen the all the episodes,

but my current copies have very bad picture quality. First of all,

one must get past the poor voice acting. I swear there can't be more than

2 or 3 voice actors doing these shows. It's hilarious how they screw up

some of the names. With the poor dubbing, I understand the characters

not being that interesting. Yeah, Rodimus Kup & Blurr (Wally) flew off

into space not to be seen again. We have all seen T.F. the movie, so

we are already prepared for characters to be written out of the series.

I agree with you point about Cybertron, I hated to see it go.

As far as bots/characters dying, that understandable considering the

way many anime shows are written. I was watching an interview on

one of my G.I. Joe dvd's, and the writer was talking about killing Duke

in the movie. They would't let him! They didn't want to show death to

the American audience, and that the difference. So instead, Duke gets

"badly injured." The Japaneese writersfeel their audience can handle death

and they are right. The stories for the three series are written differently

so just keep watching and you will be fine. The best series of the three is

yet to come. So for now, get used to Metroplex being called Phillip and

Soundblaster being called New Soundwave. :thumb

:tflaugh :tfgrin i've seen the 1st episode and it made me rofl especially the fact that grimlock was voiced by a woman (at least i thought he was at one point)

The Japanese Language versions with English Subtitles are very good. The Japanese Voices really sound very close to the American Voices...Grimlock comes to mind first.

I like Headmasters and Masterforce. I think it is much better than what we got here with Rebirth. The animation destroys Rebirth and is on par with the better episodes of Season Two. Headmasters is probably my fav. Japan-Only TF Series.

Galvatrons not dead, and the seasonb 3 bots just went to looks for a new planet.

that harbinger of chaos galvatron finally perished in a sea of ice ...... I'm pretty sure thats how it went (not about to whip out the dvd's and check) ... i would say he's dead... plus he never shows up again ... in any series.... till like beastwars neo .

Is the Galvatron in BW Neo the same one? may suffer through that series just for that...

And of course Spike becoming Fort Max lol. I'm sure if it was more than 3 episodes, the rebirth concepts would have really rocked.

No they are not the same Galvatrons. Completely different...just named the same. And BW2 and Neo aren't all that bad...you just have be a bit more open-minded to them. They aren't BW/BM, so you just have to accept that.

 

BW2 has some great characterization though.
