why fort max?

Recommended Posts

I'd say size is what makes Fort Max more appealing. He's actually big enough to make a decent sized city.

I hear hes like 3feet tall or something

how much was fort max back in the day ??? I mean when he was first released???

Huge, two headmasters, huge, triplechanger, huge, lots of guns, huge and easliy the centerpiece of any collection.. oh and he is huge.

Fort Max is 2 foot tall, and averaged about $100 when he came out in stores. Metroplex was less than half the size, and about half the price, and had less playability. Metroplex you could only really use the minibots and combiner teams with, the rest of the TF's were too big. Fort Max was large enough that you could play with the larger Autobot cars on, as well as he had more features, including a jail and an elevator along with self-powered 'launchers' on the ramps. Plus Fort Max was armed to the teeth, Metroplex's guns formed another robot, leaving him only with a few built in weapons, not near as imposing. Although, from the cartoon standpoint, Fort Max would've been maybe half the size of Metroplex.

Not in Headmasters, Fort Max was the right size in that series (at least the first 7 episodes as that's all that I have right now - hurry up WPP) The US comic was messed up when Fort Max and Galvatron were about the same size in issue #79 :tfhuh

I had Metroplex as a kid but not FM. I loved to play w/ Metro and still think he has one of the toughest looking bot modes. I got Brave Max a year ago and everything Thad says is right on. You can have just as much fun with Metro as Max though... it really depends on your imagination. Brave is big and you have to buy the guns for him (well worth it). He really has the "oh my gosh that's big" factor going for him.

If I could only have two bots for the rest of my life they would be Brave Max and Powermaster Prime/Ginrai w/ Godbomber/Apex Armor - whatever... you know ;) Those are the two most fun Transformers ever made IMO.

Fortress Maximus was awesome for four reasons.

1. He was huge (slightly over 2 feet tall)

2. His city & base/starship modes were killer. There were so many little features and compartments. He was also very detailed. And lots of weapons.

3. Spike became the head of Cerebros, who in turn became the head of Fortress Maximus.

4. He also had a couple vehicles that combined to form another robot. Not very poseable, but it looked cool.

I believe he retailed for around 80-90 dollars back in the day. I remember that I had saved up for a few months and my mom paid for half of it.

Just FYI, Fort Max is only 21.5 inches (1 foot, 9 1/2 inches) when measured from the ground to the top of his head. I have seen everything in between... but I just measured him so I know this is correct :thumb

Yes in Japan continuity Metroplex only comes up to middle of Fort Max's shin if I remember my scaling correctly.

Fort Max is liked more so for all the reasons listed here from everyone.

I personally care more for Metroplex. But that is just me, hehe.

since i remember only the Rebirth eps, what did Cerebros toy transformed into?(i kno hes the head part of the base FM, in the cartoon, the alt mode looked like a human size FM)
