I really do appreciate the Beast Wars line but the beastformers in this line just aren't doing a thing for me. I'll take my power ranger Prime over that hideous combination any day of the week. HasTak really seems to be getting lazy with coming up for good combination gimmicks. :tdown

Oh yeah right, like taking Fatimus Prime's Powerzord attachments and just throwing them on E-Omega's limbs looks any better. PUH-LEEZ. :roll

I'm not really feeling the beasts, although the Liger is bred for it's skills in magic, and is pretty much my favorite animal. Flame Convoy looks awesome, though. Look at his face on the box! It reminds me a lot of BW Dinobot for some reason. Is anyone else seeing this? Like maybe a cross between the animation model and the toy.

 

Also, I am literally salivating over Red alert. It kind of sucks that you can see his head in alt mode, but you wouldn't even know it was a head unless you were looking for it. It actually makes sense as a part of the vehicle.

 

Also: first images (to my knowledge) of the finished RM Lio Convoy!!! This'll be my first Lio Convoy, and he's going to look awesome with my other two RM Convoys.

These new beast formers seem to look .......OK.....but that is from what I could make out from the pictures listed above.

 

I think that the new beastformers are retaining the extreme mechanical feel of the energon beastformers. This was the only quality of the energon ones I was not crazy about enen though I liked Divebombe.

 

The new ones have tough expectations to live up to.

 

Hastek got better at making beastformers year after year. Some of the ones I'm seeing here look like first time runs of beast formers.

 

Some of the things that Hastek did to better their beastformers especially once they started transmetal 2 was to put personalility action features, more articulation movements in the animal form like movable jaws, more intense detailing, the designs went into the techno organic feel, furzors that looked like mythical animals, the bot modes were like actual action figures (BM blackaracna, BM snarl, BM nightslash cheetor) this is something that we have not seen in years, scale was more visually acceptable, the use of different materials (translusent plastic, vacume metal) spark crystals, even if the beastformer was just a stand-em-up transformation you had to get the legs set right, robot feet were added and there were posable thumbs and fingers to set from beast paws to robot hands.

 

Now are ALL of these details going to be part of the new beastformers from GF? .......NO!

 

It has been too long since the designers sat down and looked at what they had to create for beast formers.

 

So this LIger thing is going to have to beat out a snarl with his posable lion head that opens and closes the jaw, Liger has to beat out many points of articulation in the hands and at the waist, knees. Hell it's going to be tough to match up to snarls moveable mouth in robot mode...lololol. The only thing that liger does not need is the slashing function and power punch. And now that I think about it and look at snarls muscle tissue, I haven't got started on the detailing yet!

 

On a more positive note....I think that liget being a shield / claw weapon for optimus is a cool idea.

 

I'm still planing on getting my first Prime from this line and I doe like the idea that other transformers (not minicons, I hate those things) I could get could turn into weapons for him. It kind of remindes me of the old Bandi toys of long ago before they sold their soul to power rangers.

flameconvoy is wonderfull! ill be getting him.

but that lion dude looks like they designed his robot mode then just decided: "hey if we make hime crawl on his knees and add a mane to him hed look like a lion!"

hes plain sucky!

 

 

i think ill just go with the vehicles... and maybe some of the nicer beastformers.

 

btw. anybody noticed that in some pictures there is unicrons minicon (i forgot the name) repainted?

 

whats he supposed to be now? some sorta bowling ball for the larger tfs?

I just had an idea that could be a positive side for Liger Jack. What if another Super/Ultra (preferably the latter) is released, but this one as some kind of lion? Add 3 more parts (maybe 4 for the backpack) and voilá, GX-02 Predaking! :tfevil

WOW the new molds are gr8 but none of you have touched on skidz hes gr8 for a basic size and has a rather bad ass altmode WITH INTERIOR

 

i think the dread end repaint is like the micron booster packs but they have cooler colours as DE is all shiny
