I am also disappointed in Hasbro because they said they were gonna start supporting other stores to help save them from Wal-Mart, only to give Wal-Mart a time exlcusive? Hasbro is talking out of both sides of it's *ss now.

Wal*Mart recently took over as the #1 toy retailer in America, knocking off TRU. Somehow I can't see Hasbro biting the hand that feeds them.

Dispite that, TRU still carries more toys than Wal-Mart, making TRU more financially important to toy makers. You can fit the entire Wal-Mart toy section into just one section at TRU.

i don't know how the toys r us stores near you do, but the one near me only carries about half the toys they used to. half of the store was cut down to fit a big kids r us section in it to take the place of the kids r us store that closed. they have gen 1 reissues up the yin yang!! they still had ultra magnus reissues as late as last october! in over a year of seeing the reissues there i've yet to see any prices on them marked down no matter how long they've been sitting there.

 

considering they do carry more toys than walmart you'd think for that reason alone they should be selling more than anyone else but they don't. to me thats a big sign that they aren't doing very well. so long as they refuse to make their prices competetive they are going to suffer.

 

a good comparison is unicron, the wal mart near me got just as many as toys r us did. wal mart only has a few left, TRU still has a TON of them and they aren't going anywhere. same for energons. toys that are hot are flying off the shelves at other stores and collecting dust at TRU.

 

due to other toy chains dropping like flies, TRU sees themselves as kings of the hill. they don't really consider themselves in competition with the walmarts or targets....thats going to be their death!!!

Around here, Rodimus has almost reached market saturation!

I'm starting to be able to find him more often.

Wave two is in full force now, the only ones that are a little hard to find still are divebomb and rodimus.

funny...divebomb is one i haven't had any trouble finding. in the last 2 days i've been to toys r us, 2 walmarts and 2 targets and of all those stores only one of the targets had 2 prowls, and 2 rodimus nothing else, and i imagine those won't be there too much longer, if at all.

Dude, I think it has something to do with Wal-Mart ordering up on Wave1 Energon like they're supplies for an upcoming national catastrophe. Here in Memphis, they have more Hotshots, Infernos, and Strongarms than we have photon charges!

You can find Wave 2's at any Walmart around here. And once I pick up Signal Flare, I'll have every Energon I want for a while.

i just stopped by my walmart again and they have the same thing. plenty of w1 basics, a bunch of optimus, a few scorponoks and the rest is totally cleaned out! no deluxe, no universe, no wave 2 anything....NADDA! been that way for about 3 weeks which is odd considering that store is overflowing with customers! i check early and often so i know they just haven't really stocked anything new.

 

the isle they have for the exlusive license section was faked out from day 1 and so far they have yet to put out any of the walmart exlusives....i guess that just means when the other stores in the area are out of them this one will just be getting theirs put out, which actually works out pretty well for me cuz i'm kinda short on cash right now. :tdown

My Walmart has all the exclusives. Too bad the only one I have interest in is Skywarp.
