Transformers Moments

What was your first Transformer?

sadly i don't remember the first transformer i ever recived, i couldn't even tell you all the tf's i've had, i was realy young when i started playing with them.

When did you realize you were a TF "fanboy" ?

the exact moment i realized i was a geewon fanboy was when i noticed that when watching the movie i could say the lines word for word, and when i wasn't watching the movie i could quote quite a bit of it.

Was Optimus Prime sitting under your Christmas Tree?

i never had the original OP, i know that for sure, my OP was Powermaster OP, and i'm pretty sure i got him for xmas because that was realy the only time i ever got "big toys".

Where were you when you saw the show for the first time?

either at home or at my nephew's house.

Find a bootleg dinobot in a train station in WV 2 years before they came out?  (OK maybe that was just me)

.... the only time i was ever on a train or near a train station period was when i was 16 and that was in snowshoe :-P  i live in wv but no where near a passanger train station...  the only ko's i remember getting as a child was some kind of car type thing that you could pull back and to tf him all you had to do was stand him up on his end and fold his arms down

Just looking to hear unique Transformer stories

i remember playing with nosecone and quickswitch and getting mad that they wouldn't drill.  whilst playing i got bit by some kind of bug and threw nosecone down onto my brother's carport busting his arm off... i realy dont' have many unique tf stories... i just always played with them outside and tryed making forts out of sticks like i saw in commercials... i'm sure if there was some sort of plastic detecting device i could find a ton of tf stuff outside.

What was your first Transformer? --Optimus Prime with grey Roller and metal side panels in the trailer.

When did you realize you were a TF "fanboy" ? --well, I always liked my 84-87 TFs. Maybe it was when I got G2 Jazz, Cliffjumper and Bumblebee.

Was Optimus Prime sitting under your Christmas Tree? --Christmas 1984 :)

Where were you when you saw the show for the first time? --Living room floor, Black and White TV, and it followed Q-Bert. (or was it Jem?)

Find a bootleg dinobot in a train station in WV 2 years before they came out? (OK maybe that was just me).  --I dismissed so many diaclones since they "looked" unofficial. I'm talking all the 1984 series TFs as diaclones found at pharmacies and discount chain stores... It hurts now to know they came before TFs.

First transformer:  The first one I remember having is a targetmaster sureshot.

When did I realize I was a fanboy? When I got a second Powermaster Op to fix the first one I broke.

Was Prime under the Christmas tree?  Yes, twice.  Refer to the previous statement!

Where was I when I first saw the show?  A foot from the tv waiting for that stupid G.I. Joe cartoon to end so I could watch robots pwn!  (ok gi joe isn't as stupid now, but when i was a kid my logic was 35 ft robot pwns squishy humans, ha)

Inadvertantly I passed up a Fort Max when I was young to get another Powermaster Op.  At least that's what my mom told me.  She said by the time I changed my mind they couldn't find another one. :tfsad Now I'm faced with the cruel reality of having to save a steep $700 if I want a good one.  What can I say, I was young when I started playing with them(being born in '84 and all).  I wasn't one of those kids that easily broke them or lost parts.  I treasured them and took really good care of them for such a young age.  Unfortunately what I had got stolen after I had to move in with my grandparents.  I had so many that I never saw again after '96. :tfsad But now I make ah dah money to fund muh hobby! :thumb

What was your first Transformer?

Brawn.

When did you realize you were a TF "fanboy" ?

In 1985 when Transformers became the toys that I actually had to display properly instead of shoving into a toybox. And of course, when I soon memorised the entire TFTM script.

Was Optimus Prime sitting under your Christmas Tree?

No, but Skywarp was.

Where were you when you saw the show for the first time?

In my lounge room. Before then, the first time I ever read a TF comic book was at a friend's house - lying on the floor reading.

I found a real Transformer - G1 Ravage - on the ground one day while walking home from school.

I used to post on this Japanese TF board called Transformers-Net (administrated by Naito Naonori) and I befriended another user who went by the nick Kaigunsantohei (aka Tiger Convoy) - I managed to convince him to come and live in Sydney on a Working Holiday. During his year here, he became a well known figure amongst Sydney's animé and TF crowd, even attending a TF fan gathering in Melbourne where fans from across three state capitals (Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide) had gathered. That was cool.

My first Transformer was Bumblebee (first gobot was Spay-C). Shortly after, my mom got me Thundercracker. I was 4 or 5 at the time and she gave it to me in the morning. She then told me that the box said it was for ages 8 and up, so I had to wait. After much quiet frustration she finally let me open it in the afternoon after she'd had her fun.

I realized that I was a fanboy when I started buying things that I hated.

Optimus wasn't under this Christmas tree but Grimlock and Sludge were. My dad tried to Transform them for me (I was 5) using the crude pseudo-instructions on the box top. After a half hour of frustration, he found that there were full size instructions in the box.

As for the show, I also am a child of The Bozo Show.

Your mum lied to you. The original G1 Transformers were for ages 5 and up.

Despite that I was teased mercilessly in school by a lot of kids who insisted that Transformers were for babies and that anyone over the age of 5 was too old to be playing with them. Yes, I did point out the whole meaning of "Ages 5 and Up" being a child safety recommendation, but they didn't listen. Dicks.
