Masterpiece Devastator

I'm not so worried about the vehicle modes, since what all of you have said is correct; there aren't really anyconstruction vehicle kits out there, and I doubt that the ones that are would all be in the same required scale to each other, let alone the alternator scale I plan on using. scratchbuilding the alt modes will most likely be the solution. The wheels can be made by machining one wheel from a block of styrene, and then using that as a master for a mold to cast as many as I need in resin.

As for the link, oneday, sorry to say it's broken. :( Hopefully, i'll get a chance to see what you were trying to show me.

My biggest concerns for this project are; 1) that the robot parts and materials I plan on using may not stan up structurally to the stresses of transformation and linking, and: 2) the required amount of machining by dremel tool and use of materials to get the constructicons as close to perfect as I can make them.

Hopefully, I'll be able to figure something out.

same dealy, products, robots, page 2

I checked them out but there were only 2 that combined into a Devastator type robot but they looked good. At least it wasn`t as bad as the minibot combiner Devastator that Hasbro made. I alomst bought all 6 pieces but they really looked bad. Oh well maybe Hasbro will wise up and make a 1:24 scale combiner set like W.V. is planning to make w/ a truck and trailer to make his head, chest, arms, and legs. Maybe when W.V. gets done he can get a job at Hasbro and mass produce it for the rest of us.

I was at TrU today and saw a 4 piece construction vehicle set they were about 1:24 scale it had a dump truck, a scraper like Scrapper, a cement mixer, and a shovel like Scavenger. Unfortunately you`d still have to find a bulldozer and a crane truck. They were plastic so they probably wouldn`t be to hard to customize I don`t think.

I read what you said up top in the kit bash guide and I think it will work much better if you use the transforming parts truck and trailer after all bulldozers and shovels can`t drive on the road :tflaugh `sides it will probably look better and this gives you a place where you can put the Devastator head/ chest, arms, and legs without messing up the bot and vehicle modes of the constructicons. Well that`s my $.02 worth anyways.

Well, another consideration is that I'm trying to remain as faithful as i can to the original designs.

Man the RID Devastator is pretty cool. Kinda like it.

sorry for being SLIGHTLY off topic... but from "shumworld's" deviantart R.I.D. devastator... am I correct in that it was a REPAINT?

i never followed R.I.D., but i REALLY LIKE what shumworld produced!!!

what were the original colours for it? and is it still possible to find them all? did they come in a box set?

Actually, you just gave me an idea. maybe constructicon parts can be obtained fron that set.
