Then you're all set if you don't mind paying a bit more. :)

Soundwave is Takara only at the moment, btw.

oh yea forgot about soundwave, cant miss him

Anyone know a good review site for all the Takara collection? I have Starscream but I'd like to read up on the others...

im wondering whats the difference except price/availability/box art between takaras reissues and hasbro's

Takara's are like the ones you played with when you were a kid. Solid and true to the original toys.

Hasbro's have a lot of stuff substituted in like longer missiles, No chrome or Missing paint apps on figs and weapons. They also tend to be on the floppy side when it comes to quality.

Sure you can save a little on the TRU versions, but they will NEVER have any colliectible value to them compared with the Japanese versions. Years out, the Hasbro ones will be considered junk compared with original and JP toys.

Takara is leagues ahead in investment value alone. For me, that makes a lot of difference considering that I am collecting them.

1st order is looking at

prime

megs

soundwave

'screamer

magnus

sideswipe

prowl

jazz

I've bought both, from my experience, toy quality is the same. Only changes from childhood are improvements. Like heat stamped symbols, better quality stickers, movement of the rub signs to better locations. Small things. That goes for both Hasbro and Takara.

Buy them to cherish them, don't buy them for value. They won't go up all that much since they're not rare anymore. Original G1 stuff will still fetch top dollar over re-issues.

Like I said, there's nothing wrong with the Hasbro stuff. They have to work within the confines of the law. I'm quite happy they've listened to us in the 1st place. :)

Rodimus, Dirge, Hot Rod (non-Targetmaster) are the same as the Takara versions released earlier btw.

But, I have enough G1 originals to keep me happy......for now

I couldn't say it better myself =P

Approximately how long does it take Hasbro to take a Binaltech figure and ship it out as a Alternator? I know that wave 2 just went out in Takaras line, how long untill Hasbro sends out its own second wave?
