Saliva! They should definitely be on the rock soundtrack. Rock & Roll Revolution is a signature song!

I agree Giant Robots = Heavy Metal.

If not then a score by Elfman would rock. But the best idea so far is the Matrix score, in the first movie they had songs, in the second and third it was just instrumental. But a mix of that would work great.

If not then atleast a scene were a dramaqueens car is seen playing a britney song, and OOPs one of the giant robots accidentally steps on it.

That would rock.

Let me think back to the Spider-Man soundtrack.... Spider-Man 2.... uh.... X-Men....? Hulk...? Daredevil...? uh.....

Soundtrack albums for movies like this usually feature second-tier rock of some variety, no doubt to be played over the closing credits. Nothing too memorable.

Score, on the other hand.... Am I the only person who thinks that Danny Elfman has been ripping himself off for the last fifteen years? (Perhaps yes.) Anyway, he works best with a "quirky" director, and I'm seriously hoping NOT to have a Burton-esque vision of the Transformers.

I'd say that electronic music is a complete no-brainer and will feature heavily in the movie. I don't think the people producing this movie are creative or inventive enough to come up with anything different (certainly nothing approaching the beatifully fitting score that Don Davis did for the Matrix films, or that Howard Shore did for LotR). And of course by "electronic," I don't mean "Vince DiCola". I fully expect that music that is cool now (at least in the MTV world) will be in the movie, because it will be exactly two years out of date by then.

Basically, I'm not seeing myself rushing out to buy the soundtrack album for this one. Raimi had the original Spider-Man theme tacked on to the end credits of Spider-Man 1 b/c he's a frickin' genius and is awesome; I'm not getting the sense that the producers of this movie are going to have the artistic confidence to commission a remake of (for instance) the hair-metal version of the TF:TM theme song, or even to include the original recording somehow. But you never know.

From the crop of current music, Id say Sevendust would fit in well, Disturbed, Tool, etc. And theyre a local band here, but Mrs Fletcher's song Kid in the 80's mentions tfs heavily, so I think it could work.

It has to be metal, even a new versionof "instruments of destruction". And please NO AND I AM SERIOUS HERE NO RAP, HIP HOP CRAPPY SOUNDTRACKS PLEASE, it doesnt match at all with transformers.

I wouldn't mind something like the Punisher soundtrack. Similar to spider-man, but less score. It had bands like Drowning Pool, Saliva, and Strata.

Strata rocks.

They should bring back "You Got The Touch" from the original movie soundtrack, better known from "Boogie Nights.

I caught that video on VH-1 Classic after seeing boogie nights a few times last week. It was pretty funny.
