Just wanna mention, Dino was a Ferrari, and MATTEL actually own all rights to making toys of Ferraris. So chances are Dino won't be getting a toy, unless they make it look close to a ferrari, but not a Ferrari. (like what they did with Sideways from ROTF, but as a not-Audi in his case)

Don't know about Dino, but Mirage has been announced Sparkless, so I'm guessing that they will make Mirage's alt mode slightly different from the normal Ferrari.

I know one thing, a little clarification on the "first edition" packaging that the Prime figs are in. Will that only be for initial shipments? All first season?

If they can show, they might as well tell!

I don't know all that much about cars and Ferraris and stuff, but DotM Mirage is already available in the Speed Stars series. I don't know how accurate looking the toy is to a real Ferrari 458 Italia, but it's either based on the car, or - as Sparkless suggested - an approximated "Not Ferrari 458 Italia."

Here's pics for comparison:

A Ferrari 458 Italia

Dark of the Moon Speed Star Mirage

...obviously the "trans scan" decos aren't realistic, but that mould looks pretty close to me.

And it's not the first time Hasbro's done approximated alt modes because of licensing issues. Sparkless mentioned that ROTF Sideways is an approximated Audi R8. Universe/Henkei Sunstreaker, Sideswipe and Red Alert are approximated Lamborghini Gallardos.

OK got the clarification on the Prime first edition figs. The figs out in December will all have them until March when the rest of the line launches in regular type packaging. End of the line for new movie figs is December, but will likely linger until March to clear out stock with no new figs.

So it really looks like offerings from Hasbro will be rather flat between now and next March. :tdown Again, aside from voyager repaints there is no word of any new figs, no HA Topspin, no new leader class. No Mirage, and only 2 waves of known deluxe figs coming.

Not even Cyberverse shows to have much past the next 2 base sets that are supposed to be out.

Call me crazy, but this entire line seems to have similar size to what the first 2 movie lines had out in only the first 2 months of release and still had lots more coming. So what's the problem here?

Probably no more Dark Of The Moon figures but probably something along the lines of Hunt For The Decepticons and Reveal The Shield

Aren't TF Prime toys out in the US already? Cos I coulda sworn I saw people posting pics of Prime Optimus Prime...

S'okay... gives my wallet time to recover. ;)

Boo to no DotM Mirage!! :tdown I seriously don't get that... they release the toy as a Speed Star toy... but nothing else?? Grrr!

I doubt that. I don't think that worked as well as they liked the last time. Plus they said new movie waves up to December but will be keep shipping after that presumably stopping just before Prime comes out to let retailers clear the rest out.

January and February aren't known for being great months for new figs anyway. Most places take their time recovering from the holidays as do people with their spending.

Even if there are a group of figures they haven't shown or talked about yet then it's bound to not be very many which still puts this line way behind others in terms of original molds. The repaint ratio in this line is what is starting to gag me.

Yeah that's right! I'm looking at you Bumblebee!

I like a good Bumblebee, don't get me wrong. Didn't want a bee hive though!

Let us not forget that since this movie line has launched there has not been nearly as many new molds that have been out compared to previous lines. In lines past, we had several new waves of deluxe and voyager figures by now, but not as many repaints.

Most of what we've gotten after the release of this movie line has been repaints. Most of the various store exclusives out there, the ones yet to come. Repaints, repaints, more repaints.

I like DOTM and wanted to see A LOT more from this line. As it is, we're hoping to scrape out the last of the movie cast at least. It's a bummer!

All we can hope for now is that Hasbro will take all the money they made from so many repaints and channel that into one HELLUVA Prime line! That puppy better be all in, or I might find myself leaning toward folding for good.

At least as far as Hasbro goes. I'll simply put all my money and interest into the 3rd party toy makers. Less to choose from and a lot more expensive, but a lot more satisfying!

Too many supposed figures coming out of Hasbro, is whats keeping my attention. Though I'm not sure why they didn't just show them all. Remember they only showed Wheeljack at Comic Con even though he and Mirage were confirmed. And still have a hard time believing that we are only getting Bumblebee, Ironhide, and Sentinel Prime in Leader class.

So I wouldn't close the door on DOTM just yet or on any movie related figures coming out in 2012 or more hten just HA Soundwave in December

I'm mostly thinking that Hasbro is simply taking a more conservative approach this time around. They got stuck with a whole crapload of figures they couldn't move from ROTF/RTS and I don't think they want a repeat of that. I think Hasbro dropped the ball on that one a bit by holding too much back for too long and producing too many of the earlier waves. They didn't leave enough time or room at the end to get those figures out. I think they even admitted to that much. That's why i don't see them doing that again.

Still baffles me though. Knowing people are still seething about HAMF then WHY did they not put him out in a limited run for DOTM? I mean a silly Skids repaint why? (crickets chirp)

For a few years Hasbro did spoil us a bit. Now they seem to be pulling back a bit and it's just taking people awhile to realize it. So folks are in denial a little thinking Hasbro is planning some big surprise when they really don't have squat.

Just a little food for thought. Now I don't have exact numbers to work with, just using my general shelf capacities for reference on this. Both of the first 2 movies I had to start storing away the early figures because so many came out. I probably had a whole tote filled already and full shelves again by the time the line ended.

This time, I have everything I want that's currently out. All deluxe, voyagers, Cyberverse, and leaders. All displayed on the same shelves and I still have room for a shelf of Generations. Even if I replace the Generations with new DOTM figs from now til December then I'll have the shelves full of DOTM finally. Only no other tote full.

However if I take all the repaints out of DOTM? OOPS! Bring back those Generations, I still have more than enough room!

So that means this line isn't just small in the original mold category. It's actually pretty pathetic for the most successful movie of the 3! Even if they do pop out a couple of more waves we haven't seen.
