Conventions Done...

Recommended Posts

Now that we've seen all that the convention world has to reveal to us this year I guess it's time to chime in on what we did or didn't see.

I for one am HUGELY disappointed! Later waves of the first movie and ROTF had some spectacular molds that came out and here we are with the 3rd movie and really not a lot to speak of past the next wave or two. While the few Cyberverse, and deluxes we saw were pretty decent I gotta ask the million dollar question..."WHERE'S THE BEEF?"

No more leader figs? No new voyagers, just repaints? I must say I'm rather miffed here! If this is all we're getting in those classes then why did they bother with them at all?

I'm not even happy that we didn't get a single word about anything past deluxe wave 6. Is the movie line done after that? Any Mirage (Dino)?

Now in the past they didn't always show what all was coming, they would at least tell some of what was still to come. Not even a hint of anything...that's what disturbs me. I mean is this the new tactic at Hasbro, see what happens when they give people little to no idea of what to be looking forward to? Not seeing the strategy. Unless it's simply that they're worried that retailers might pull out on them again leaving a bunch of figures with no outlets and a lot of pissed off fans again.

However, I doubt that simply because they've been puckering up so much in general trying to keep people from knowing anything about anything before they say it's OK for us to know.

Now I like how the Prime line is looking for sure, but that is way too far out at this point to be getting too excited over. I want some stuff to buy between now and then and right now those are looking to be very few....at least for the new molds. Plenty of BB repaints to look forward to. :roll

Seriously Hasbro...WTF?!?

Yeah no Mirage at ANY size class is pretty disturbing. I also hope for a deluxe or larger Hatchet and Crowbar. Maybe even a re-release of the legends Wheelie mold. And Brains, c'mon Hasbro. Get the screen characters done!

This really miffed me with ROTF. Plenty of shitty Rampages around but not a single damn Scrapper mold. But yet here comes dozens of new molds. It makes no sense to me.

The lack of breadth in DOTM seems to be puzzling. Not announcing Leader class Megatron is even more profound. They must have some good secrets lined up for the holiday season because if that's all they're gonna have in November... it's gonna be a lonnnnng winter.

Megatron and Shockwave are suppose to be early 2012. And we all know Hasbro and their stupid keep everything secret for no reason strategy. Which is why we do not have the ability to buy what we want. Since we do not know what is coming out. So we don't save for it, then when it does come out we don't have the money then by the time we do. We can't find them in the stores anymore and have to spend more for the item in question on eBay.

Which is why I think Sarah should be fired. She has obviously been working in Marketing for Hasbro for awhile

Even the sdcc exclusives for this year were disappointing, seriously they was just re-boxs.

Like I said, I don't care if they show us everything or not, but what is the harm in letting us know that some of the figures we're hoping for will be or won't be coming.

What ever happened to fan Q&A? Was there ANY of that this year? I can't remember much if any fan questions being answered. Taking a huge step backwards in fan communication is not a very promising sign from them.

Feels like a slap in the face after 27 years' worth of unwavered loyalty to the Transformers brand. :( :(

Well now Hasbro has made crapping on my parade this year complete. Exclusives have gone on sale on their site and NO matrix Prime Prime! That's all I wanted!

Never mind the fact that I probably wouldn't have been able to get it to my cart then get all the way through the checkout before the high traffic booted me out...at least not before the "SOLD OUT" marker hits.

EDIT: They finally listed him and it took over an hour to get through the checkout process, but it's done and I don't have to worry.

I know these will probably be in and out for weeks, but I feel better not taking any chances.

i'm sure we'll start seeing leaked photos of new stuff coming soon enough. i'm not too worried.

Hasbro has been dropping the ball. DOTM hits the shelves REALLY EARLY and the wave that hit the week before the premiere didn't really have any new Movie characters that I recall. There are still characters that haven't hit the shelves yet, or even been revealed. Lets not mention that the usual strategy of releasing toys to media at the same time didn't happen at all with Prime. The Prime toys took that long to come out? What's going on?
