Hasbro Answers Your Burning Questions Part X! Confirms Animated Done

Recommended Posts

Raving Toy Maniac got their answers back and *GASP!* an actual, honest, thought out, non-form explanation to why they don't like to use 1980s alt modes anymore (though it kinda misses the heart of the question). They also say Cliffjumper is the only new War for Cybertron figure on the way and due in 2011.

How much more "form" can you get?

Answer: For the Transformers brand, we are always looking forward to finding new ways to re-imagine our favorite characters. We have not re-released all of the 1980's figures as we believe this would be a stale treatment of our beloved characters. Instead, we look at Transformers as being the most up-to-date technologically advanced sentient beings. Based on this, we feel that they would continually update themselves so that they would remain "Robots in Disguise" versus staying in their 1984 vehicle form and sticking out like a sore thumb!

I think you are right, Hasbro did miss the heart of the question. Does Hasbro think we put all of our Transformers in a fantasy world where they somehow exist in real life and don't want their Transformers to stick out in the modern world? :wtf

How much more "form" can you get?

You really think so? It seemed much more like the type of response a designer would give than some generic corporate automated buzz-word laden response like the one given about the Transformers cartoons.

But yeah, Hasbro should realize by now that the G1 look will always be more iconic than any alt mode they ever re-imagine their G1 characters into. They do know this, otherwise we wouldn't be getting those G1 legends figures, but it's about time they threw us a bone with something a little more substantial.

It certainly seems like a response they have used before. How else could they end up missing the entire point of the question?

And they probably have used that answer before since I'm pretty sure it's the same person/people that do the Q&A every few months and they aren't likely to budge on their stance without good reason and already have an answer in mind for when the question comes up. But what I meant by not being a "form" response is that it actually looked like something someone might say at a Botcon panel as opposed to the animation reply they gave here that looked like it was cut and pasted from Hasbro's "Big Book of Non-Answers". As for not actually getting the point of the question, keep in mind that they tell us when the question time comes up that they won't answer questions about potential figures and lines so they probably used this question as a platform to point out why they choose the alt modes they choose since it's related.

Spin doctoring. It works for politicians, it works for big business. Why not for Hasbro?

Hasbro is big business and it hasn't exactly worked. ;)

These really should be called Hasbro Avoids Their Burning Questions..

Hasbro is big business and it hasn't exactly worked. ;)

:tflaugh I should clarify. When I say big business, I mean the congolmerate corporations that pulls the strings of our government like so many puppets. Hasbro only wishes they were within that realm.

For our questions they should have wrote.

Because we don't want to give fans what they want
