Hm, ask me a couple of years back and I would say, I agree with you Ice Wolf. But recently, I managed to get Superion, Defensor, Bruticus, and a couple days back, Menasor. Of course, the reissue Predaking too. Now that I got most of the Season 1-4 G1 combiners, I don't pay too much attention what Hasbro decided what to reissue. With the Seacons reissue, he'll definitely be added to my collection even though I am not as thrill as say Computron or Devastator reissue.

Okay, sure, lots of people are happy with the Seacons. A few are uninterested, which is fine.

I never even wanted this to begin with....but when I saw its shinny reissue box and pinkish/purple/aqua colors, I preorded the first available day at BBTS! Looking forward to it now. :D

Yeah, I think the rerelease released as a giftset in the mid-nineties is more expensive than the original because it was a giftset. I remember when I first got mine from a local collector's shop here in town, I paid 300 for it in 1997 and then sold it for 700 dollars shortly thereafter once I needed the money. I still wish I had that set though. :redface

 

Heck, I even went halves with my brother and bought the store's second one solely to sell on Ebay (only time I did this). Sorry, making a 400 dollar profit was to good to pass up. Needless to say, my brother and I split the profit. :P

Nothing wrong with that, But I would never BIN something that I know I can win for a cheaper price. A lot of the BIN's the sellers just keep relisting hoping some idiot will come along and buy it. For me? I really careless about the box, and would rather not have it. So that keeps the prices down for me.

Umm... $222.50 for a used set is drastically more expensive than the $60 that a new set of re-issue Seacons are going to cost. And more expensive than any of the other US gestalts. It's even more than the number you yourself quoted for a recent Monstructor auction. Plus, to speak to the original poster's point, Predaking's a character that I imagine holds more interest for a larger audience than Monstructor or Raiden, given that he actually appeared in both the US cartoon and comics.
