Out of all the G1 Combiners, We Get the Seacon Boxset?

Man sometimes I feel sorry for Hasbro, after YEARS of nagging from fans RELEASE THE SEaCONS, they cave and do, then this thread comes up...

I think it's fine. Didn't have this combiner myself, so I look forward to playing with it in hand (that's right, I said play =P). I'm so glad I didn't get the BWII version that doesn't come w/ the little accessories.

I really hope this trend will continue, I wouldn't mind if Hasbro continue to release old school combiners, instead of these power core crap that someone came up with there.

Why isn't it acceptable to release BOTH?

And this surprises you how?

FreeFall666: Don't get me wrong, I am grateful for the G1 release thoughtfulness by Hasbro, however, I just would've thought that a more popular combiner set would've been released over someone obscure as the Seacons. I don't believe to many people even had the Seacon set back in the day, hence, why its fetching values on Ebay.

Exactly, now hasbro takes its due share.

So one person complains and you feel the need to blame all of us? Did you even read the responses to the initial post?

Really Hasbro? Out of all the awesome Generation 1 Combiners/Gestalts that you produced during the 80s, you give us this? Like we are supposed to get excited and giddy for this? A combiner that many, including myself, don't have the best of memories with since he was released towards the end of Generation 1 Transformers and we were beyond toys those days (1988 I was 14 years old). Why not Computron, Abominus or Defensor? Or how about even earlier: Superion, Menasor, or Predaking? Or dare I say, Devastator! Piranacon is by far the least popular of the G1 Transformer Gestalts, but it amazes me that some half-wit at Hasbro thought it would be AWESOME if we got a no-name, very ugly, Transformer Gestalt. Ugh! At least on the bright side, the packaging for the figure looks awesome. It is just to bad I can't say the same for the figure. :redface

Ok...rant is over. I feel better now. :rofl

Actually, the only G1 combiner I want more than Piranacon is Monstructor. Hopefully if the Seacons do well we'll get other G1 combiners, except Bruticus, of course, since all the Valdigus/Ruination variants gave us plenty of opportunity to get that set.

meh, id see this as hasbro testing the waters with possible future releases of combiner sets like computron menasor and the like. the real issue is why does bbts have the G1 accurate deco?

i remember seeing this boxset at kmart when i was a kid, i wanted it pretty badly, but i only ever got skalor. im really looking foeward to this sets release!

Wasn't there a Scramble City Combiner among the new UPC's for one of the stores?

I never even wanted this to begin with....but when I saw its shinny reissue box and pinkish/purple/aqua colors, I preorded the first available day at BBTS! Looking forward to it now. :D
