If you exclude Hound, who was a green jeep, Cliffjumper who was red, Gears who was red and blue, and Seaspray who was blue and yellow, you have two other minbots, Huffer who was orange and Brawn who was green and orange. Perhaps if we're lucky these two are Huffer and Brawn.

 

Now there was Perceptor, who was red, but he didn't have an alt. vehicle mode. He transformed into a microscope.

well i mean from the movieverse, but that would be great to see Brawn and Huffer but they shouldn't be brothers they should stay seperate

Another reason I'm hoping it's Skids and Mudflap is because what Bay said about giving more time for character development, will hopefully give these two a chance to shine. Right now they're the obnoxious little brothers of the Autobots that are no better than functioning as a diversionary tactic. Maybe in number three we'll really see them show whatever they might have to offer beyond that.

 

So... You'd rather those two get character development and/or screen time over Transformers like Megatron, Arcee, Starscream, and Sideswipe? IE: Four of the big-name... classic... fan-favorite Transformers who essentially got shafted in favor those two in ROTF?

 

Well, I guess I can't really criticize if they were your personal faves... just seems like a weird choice is all I'm sayin'. :shrug

 

Oh, and, sorry if I sound hostile? I've been forced to watch... "questionable" movies today (that didn't have the benefit of an MST3k commentary to save them) and I'm a bit cranky right now... ^.^;

I wouldn't say I'd like them developed in lue of those characters, but since the topics about them yes it would be nice to see them developed along with the other characters.

 

Not for anything though every series has it's own new characters that are brought in and developed. Hot Shot, Cheetor, Bulkhead...

Hell even when they rehash an older big name, fan favorite character they normaly change them drasticly, Animated Bumblebee and Prowl, Armada Smokescreen Blurr & Sideswipe, Cybertron Metroplex and Soundwave...

 

All of them either invented or reinvented.

 

You may not like the movies, hate Bay, and everything else about it but when you get right down to it, they're just doing the same thing they've always done.

 

So develope the twins, and while your at it develope Soundwave, Sideswipe, and all the rest.

 

And I know "stupid humans, and blah blah blah" but thats nothing new either, at least its a hot chick and not some weiners talking about feelings and teamwork, or worse yet an annoying spoiled brat running around screaming.

I'd rather see character development of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, not two bumbling robots that look like Megatron smashed in their faces and are supposed to be smarter than humans yet act like they don't know anything.

 

Too bad Bay didn't use the real twins of Sunstreaker and Sideswipe. Now there's where you would get great character development.

We can hope he developes all the characters, he already spent the money on CG, might as well do something better with it.

 

And since MB has Sideswipe, all he has to do is change the color, the head and maybe a couple of details and he would have Sunstreaker, and end up with two sets of twins.

As ROTF proved rather brutally, there's only so much screen time to go around. And frankly, I don't think there's any room to "develop" these characters. I mean, what are you looking for here, the secret desires Mudflap harbors in his soul? The origins of the deep, personal bond he shares with his brother? Come on. These guys were one-note cardboard jokes, and the joke was a really bad one. If they must be in the movie, I say relegate them to the amount of screentime poor Sideswipe and Arcee got last movie. At most.

Your so right no matter what way you look at it for every Autobot or Decepticon they always have the same form just in a different way

I know it's sad when two comic relief characters get more screen time than other better characters. All you know about Ironhide is that he likes (his)big Guns. All you know about Ratchet is that he is the Chief Medical officer...

That's all we knew about Ratchet in the past. Ironhide used to be OP's "ole friend" but I think he called BB that in the first one. So Ironhide is just Trigger happy.

 

Let's face it we aren't going to have the kind of character development like you would see in the Spotlight comics, or any comic book story line. It is true there is only so much screen time. And here are the top things MB will dead-icate that screen time to-

You forgot scenes worshiping/advertising the military. Those are pretty high up the list too.
