Which Transformers could you not live without?

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Due to economic reasons and a need for space, I've had to start scaling down my collection. I haven't bought anything new since the first round of ROTF figures and I have started to have second doubts about collecting due to the current price point of new figs and just a general not liking of the new molds that are coming out.

I've started to sort out what I want to keep and what I want to sell so I pose the question:

What Transformers could you not live without?

What of your collection would you hold on to through thick and thin and why? I've been asking myself these questions recently and I'm curious to hear others opinions. Thanks everyone who takes the time to respond!

Honestly, I have no connection that strong to any figure I own. If I needed the money, or I was getting out of collecting, I doubt I would keep anything at all, except maybe for the Megazord. I just have too much nostalgia for that, even if it's just the cheap reissue

I have to agree with the attachment issue, but I'm hoping not to even have to sell my entire collection.

If I had to pick one figure that I would just keep reguardless, it would have to be Optimal Optimus.

The funny thing is, when I saw it in the box I hated it, and if it wasn't for a bored trip down a clearance isle I never would nave tried the figure.

Decided to go a little beyond with Optimal Optimus, got him a second hand gun and am waiting on a second set of blast shileds for him :thumb

I have a few

PM Prime with Apex Armor - I have had this since I was a kid and remember my father taking me to go get it for a birthday present. I ordered the apex armor from japan many years later.

Fort Max - He is big awesome and same reason as PM Prime

Victory Saber - Because it took me a long damned time tracking this one day and completing it fully. Its a little easier now but 8 years ago it was damned near difficult.

BW Primal - What got me back into transformers, and its an awesome mold.

Binaltech Smokescreen - This one blew me away when they announced the line and it it still one of my favorite bots.

Energon Red Alert - Something about this guy is just awesome, cant really explain it but I would definitely hold onto it.

My RID Scourge. I love the damn guy!

My 2 are my 25 anniversary Optimus Prime; It's a classic man.

Transformes Cybertron Downshift; I don't know why, I just love the car and robot mode.

If I had Energon Inferno, I would do the same.

I could live without all my Tfs.But Im not planning on selling any of them ever.

When I die I want my Nemesis Prime from Classic Uni bagged and buried with me.

The figures I would keep through thick-and-thin would be G1 Mirage, G1 Huffer and Encore Reissue Soundwave (MIB). My three favorite Transformer toys from when I was a kid that I have a ton of nostalgia for.

With that said, My entire Transformer collection currently consists of 2 Masterpiece Transformers, G1 Jetfire, Mirage, Huffer, Ravage, Encore Soundwave, Encore Optimus Prime, Encore Jazz, Encore Skywarp/Thudercracker 2 pack, Encore Combaticon giftset and TRU exclusive Insecticon 3 pack; and I have absolutely NO intention of ever selling them. I always wanted or had these figures when I was a kid (except the 2 MP Transformers obviously) and I don't want to part with them ever...even if I am starving and need money for food. :P

armada powerlinks prime the figure I just bought

  • 2 weeks later...

The one that charges the chestplate that's keeping me alive . . . No wait, that's Tony Stark. :tflaugh

I like them a lot and I'd be sad over losing them, but they're just toys. There are none that I can't live without.
