Burning Question Discussion Topic

Recommended Posts

It's a game of cat and mouse. Guess who the mice are.

Well, it's only a game if we choose to play. They've given their rules and many of us don't like them and see the effort as being disingenuous and worthless. We could guess at any of our questions that Hasbro would answer and have a reasonable chance of getting a correct answer. I appreciate that they tried, but they're too tight lipped for me to care that much.

Instead of asking Hasbro our Burning Questions, let's ask Fan's Project our Burning Questions. We might get the same result out of them, but it's worth a shot, considering that we're almost entirely their market demographic and far, FAR smaller.

I personally like the fact that you all said to submit only one question and even gave us a list of things not to ask but very few seemed to actually read the guidlines that were posted.

I think my question is appropriate but even is it does get picked I dought it will be answered. Hasbro, for all of its denial of this fact, seems not to really take into account what a lot of the fans think. Yea they sugar coat things and say they are listening but.... It ultimately comes down to the $$$$.

FYI: my question-

There have been a lot of Positive and Negative feelings towards the Michel Bay image of the Transformers and Hasbro's "Revenge of the Fallen" toy line. How has the popularity and distain of the most recent movie (and subsequently toy line) from many Transformer fans impacted the decision making process on what direction different media and toy lines are currently taking and will take in the future?

Well, there's your problem right there. Hasbro: 1) Won't discuss the future outside of who they're repainting into whom, and 2) Won't acknowledge any negative perceptions toward any of their products.

Also, I was wondering about those who were submitting two or more questions myself....

I don't know. the question is more about influences on their processes not about what characters/shows they are planing. I was just wondering more if they took the negative and possitive thoughts into account.

Ask yourself this. Would a company make a PR move such as allowing a forum to ask them questions if they were willing to expose themselves to any negative information? Of course not. This is a PR move on their part, so they're going to relish in the positive and ignore the negative. Once you understand that, you'll get the jist of the entire exercise.

Because that's all this is... a PR move... nothing more.

Again, this is just my opinion, not the opinion of this site or other staff.

The overtly negative is why we do tend to get ingnored as a fanbase.

They say it all the time.

We're only negative toward Hasbro itself when Hasbro does something boneheaded, like this. We might complain about some figures here and there and about store stock, but this is one of the few things where we've really been extremely negative to Hasbro.

And while this may be a "PR" move, I don't feel it's a spectacularly good one. For the most part, we're already going to buy, they don't need to sell to use except through making good figures. If they're going to do PR moves, they ought to aim them at parents who aren't involved in Transformers beyond having a kid.
