Mom and Dad Return for Tranformers 3 - Will You?

Recommended Posts

Here's my thing about Michael Bay. I like the guy, and he's dam good at what he's good at!

Not alright, but dam good!!!

In all of his movies that I've seen though, it always seems that in certain moments there should be someone else driving.

He's a very talented, entertaining man, I bet if I knew him I'd like him. However, he can't do it all, and thats where not only Tranformers, but all his movies fall kinda short even when they don't.

I loved TF1, I liked TF2, and look forward to TF3, but I wouldn't mind seeing him partnered up for it.

I think a good up and comer to add to the mix would be Mark Steven Johnson, the guy who made Ghost Rider.

Now Ghost Rider was a weak movie, but the main characters were developed subtlely with little nuances. Theres a reason why Johnny Blaze had a martini glass full of jelly beans even if they never touched on it.

Stuff like that adds a nice depth

Meanwhile the action was just straight forward and dull

Michael Bay, he'll give you the exact opposite.

The two would compliment each other nicely I think.

I know it'll never happen, but it's still a good idea.

I don't see the appeal of comicly stupid parents who make a bad movie even worse.

If saying a Michael Bay Transformers movie is bad is banned from this site, you just banned the opinions of a LOT of Transformers fans.

Frankly, people should speak frankly about the things love or hate. The staff or associated entities are fans just like you. We're not CNN or your servants. I see nothing wrong with someone sucking up or being snarky in a post. It goes both ways. :bounce

What's not okay is getting personal over comments made. Transformers, even before the movie, is so vast there is plenty for everyone to love and hate. The movies are no different. People should pick and chose their favorite stuff. That's what collecting is all about right?

That said, I will repeat Blitz-Wing's comment. If you can't handle the comments about the movie stay away from the topics. We can always move these posts to the movie section, but that would be pain for those who just want to see the news.

I can see this. I actualy hate movie threads.

It doesn't matter if it's about the film, actors, figures whatever...

It just seems that if the movie is remotley mentioned, so is a endless wave or rampant negativity.

It's discouraging.

I'm not saying anyone has to like it, feel free to hate it.

Mind your manners though. In all honestly the lack of doing so is the main reason why we as a fan base aren't taken seriously.

Again, it's ok to not like something. I for one hate Animated. But I've never knocked anyone for liking it.

-outside of Breaker and his manboy love for Monkey Soundwave :P

All I do though is staet the points I don't like, hell I even compliment the parts that kicked ass.

IDK, maybe it's my 5th beer, maybe it's a growing peev, but the instant angst and personal jabs that come with it is discouraging.

I've had my fair share of tangents and have no right to point a finger, but I also know ironicly, no one likes a hater.

Sorry if this offends, but I hate feeling like I have to tiptoe around a topic I like cause the pots overflowing with piss.

So does it also apply conversely? If you can't stand reading about people complaining about a bad movie, don't read the movie news threads?

Neither do I. It's as if every time the parents appear, they get worse.

Considering how little screen time they get, why do you let it bother you so much? Same goes for everyone else crying about this! Seriously, they're in each movie for what...less than five minutes!?! If that's all it takes to make some of you into such whiny haters, then your lives must REALLY be downers at times! :tflaugh

I thought the parents were a hoot in both films, and am VERY glad to see them return. I find them much more funny than Simmons and/or Leo and far less annoying. The mom got a little out of hand in the Fallen, with her strange portrayal of someone high (seriously, nobody acts like that from marijuana)...but they were fine in the rest of their scenes. I honestly cannot believe the level of crying some of you guys do over nothing!

I don't think it makes a person a "whiny hater" to say you didn't like a character in a movie. I found them, and their antics to be one of the worst part of the film. I know there is a portion of the audience who seems to revel that sort of humor. I wasn't impressed by it in this film series.

This goes back to my original reply. Its not hate, its intense disappointment at the travesty that was made of what we love. Is the glass half empty or half full? Either way, its only half of what a Transformers movie should have been.

I'd rather have Sam's parents in the movie than a completely pointless character like The Fallen who no one gave a shit about. Devastator should have been the main villain to beat in the final battle.
