Will only buy on heavy clearance. $80 is too much for a deluxe with die-cast. Should be $15-18 max.

Whoa, no offense but keep dreaming. This is not your average mass produced toy from Hasbro. There is no way this thing could sell (for a profit) for under 20 bucks. Keep in mind, it may look deluxe size in Bot mode, but its rather large as a chopper. Tank mode is decently sized as well. I'd say its closer to Voyager size for sure.

I just received mine this evening and played with it for a few hours. Pretty cool concept and transformation is awesome. Chopper was a challenge the first time though. Lots of little details to fold and snap in.

To me, he is definitely worth it. Fansproject really made something awesome and I hope enough people buy it so that they can put that towards future projects. Magic wand, make my Rodimus grow! :9000

Thanks, I've been wanting to say that for the past couple hours :P

Hell even the Hasbro Titanium repaints jumped from $15 to $20 whn Target issued them. AND that was with the skimpage of a dispay stand!

I'm quick to denounce inflated cost, but knowing in hand the quality of this figure that honestly supersedes anything Has/Tak has put out in a real long time...

$80 may be a bit much, but $15-$20 is an insult to the manufactures.

I really can't think of the deluxe or voyager in the past 4yrs who can hold a candle to this figure.

Try it, you'll see.

the quality of this figure that honestly supersedes anything Has/Tak has put out in a real long time...

Really? Various reports confirm that most parts that are supposed to lock on this figure don't. Poor, poor design. Definitely NOT something you'd see from Hasbro. At that price, looking nice is not enough.

It's much more than just something to look at. In it's entirety, it is an awesome piece and definitely worth the money.

for those complaining about the price, its been said that this isnt an ordinary Hasbro release, it is more than that. having metal, a satisfying three mode transformation, and a sharp pointy sword not made of rubber should clue you in. this is not a childs toy, this is a bona fide high end toy. it is obvious this was made for an adult to handle, the edges are sharp with no regard to child safety. the colors arent wild and bright like many mass releases, and the plastic colors and paint match hue dead on. its like a Soul of Chogokin Transformer, or like a Hi Metal Material Model, if any are familiar with those. IT IS PURE UNADULTERATED TOY. this is a toy made by fans for fans, and they've done an incredible job. expecting to pay $20 for it is like expecting to pay the price of a ford focus for a ferrari. its a different animal, an animal Hasbro no longer remembers how (and is legally unable) to produce.

Which animal are we talking about again?

lol :argh :argh :argh

Various reports? Not to say its not occurring, but mine does not have that issue. And I am sure the people who are happy, are not as vocal. Besides, nobody can produce %100 error free toys. There is bound to be issues with any run, any company. Many online stores will allow you to exchange in the event of a defect so you should be OK.

I'll admit however that some parts that lock (such as the hip area) are a bit tough to click at first. But after getting it just so, it now snaps in a bit easier.

I'll have to agree to disagree with you. I think its a great quality product and worth its price. Its not perfect but honestly no TF is. :thumb

you can't rightfuly complain about a figure that you never tried.

That hip section is tight to get in place.

-Now I know Hasbro never had that problem ***cough*leader prime*cough***

Even still, if you don't put it in place the figure still holds very well, I can't see any complaint about that.

It's people's right to be a hater, but if you put your money where your mouth is, I bet you'll be real suprized.
