The Warbot Defender Thread

Recommended Posts

OK, so Warbot is shipping and mine showed up today!

I have to say I was scared of this figure coming from a second party. Granted Fansprojects has made some awesome product in the past, but this is pretty ambitious.

Sure Has/Tak has put out some duds in the past, but at least you could just take those back to the store and try again.

Well, I opened the box and the robot in hand completely dispersed those fears. The robot is great!!!

Nice articulation solid parts and joints. The sword is a bit flimsy, but not as bad as previous reports made it out to be.

So far so good right? well maybe...

I transformed the figure into ground assault mode, and while there were tabs and posts for everything to click into and lock up nice and tight, it seemed to take a scary amount of effort that had me fear stress or breakage.

So the figure sucks right?

WRONG, even without the tab locks the alt mode displays loose, but still very nicely :mwahaha

In reguards to the chopper mode, well, I have to say the very same thing.

Basicly, The figure is awesome, the robot mode displays better then the average Has/Tak figure and I give Fans Projects alot of credit for that. As seen in the video reviews there is a base if you have a display stand.

-I don't have this stand, so I won't comment on that.

The packaging though is great, 3 levels of protection for the figure and not a single wire tie!

There is a decent comic that comes with it too. I'm not gonna give any spoilers on that, but me thinks maybe a FP expanded universe... ?

Anyhow, if you have the money, get this figure. If you don't, save up ;)

I myself am sad that I canceled another preorder, but most definetly intend on getting a second to keep boxed and fresh :thumb

Now my only thought is, when is the 'more g1 accurate' upgrade kit coming out :P

All that said, it's your turn...

Mine showed up yesterday and is still in the box. But from looking at him I can definitely say he belongs in the Universe line. I might buy another one and take that one out of the box and modify him to look even more like Springer. but like Liege said about a G1 upgrade kit. If they don't do one, then I'll buy a second one.

theres not really much left to say about this guy, he is awesome. mine showed up yesterday, and i still haven't been able to figure out copter mode without the instructions. he does look a little messy in robot mode around his lower legs, but its forgiveable. the way he looks posed next to city commander is making me wish for Protector to come out even sooner! and then get that 3rd party Arcee, id have the beginning of a good movie cast right there

i dont see where you guys are coming from hoping they make an add on kit, if one is made i hope it isnt fansproject doing it. if you couldnt do it right the first time dont milk us like that. that would be bad business practice.

This guy definitely looks cool and I would LOVE to get him. Unfortunately, being currently unemployed it is holding me back from getting a Warbot due to having no income. :redface

However, I am curious, if Springer's stickers would be compatible with him, from Reprolables or something?

i wanted to want this figure.. but he really just doesn't look like springer to me. well.. he does look like springer.. just not enough to make the price worth it. and i think the colors are way too dull.

but.. without the figure being a springer.. it is a nice looking figure.

Want it! I STILL don't have City Commander. Will hjave it soon and all will be right with the world! How is his sword? Is it as flimsey as the reviews from Vangelous proclaimed?

The sword is thin, but not flimsy. I'm actualy checking with my other chopper figures to see if I can find a good replacement just to keep this one safe.

It's thin where your more afraid of an accidental bend over snapping.

Also, about the idea of an upgrade. It was sarcasm after all the ones for City Commander came out. I wouldn't buy it if they made it, but I wouldn't be suprized either.

Also, watch the legs where they peg into the waste.

I did have a pop off yesterday. It's a slotted peg on the leg thats widdened to nake it snug.

On the end of the peg are 2 nubs that lock the peg in place at the end of the port.

The only thing is, around the port, the carved grooves on te top and bottom for the nubs to fit through.

It was sacry for a second, but the leg did slide right back in and is tight. But if you get the nubs to align with the grooves, you will have a wandering part.

It isn't a huge problem. It only happened once while transforming the figure, and I posed him for hours last night.

Just figure give a FYI.

i got mine a couple a days ago,he is AWSOME to say the least, the only thing is the sword could be a little thicker, besides that this is another victory for FP...bring on the PROTECTOR set
