Do Any Of You Buy The Generation 1 Knockoffs?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering, do any of you guys buy the G1 knockoffs? I'm tempted to buy one but what bothers me is that its not made from Takara or Hasbro. I was told that people do buy it cause the knockoffs are better than the original.

I buy the cheap crappy ones to blow up.

Otherwise the ones they try to pass off as origionals at nearly the same price, well no. I'd rather just go the extra mile and get the origionals.

Yeah... if its considerably cheaper than the original or reissue... as for those "Reissue" ones on kotoys...nope... 80$ is just to much to throw down for a knock off devastator.

I bought a KO Devi.... but fuck did it suck!! There is absolutely NO POINT to buying knock offs!

It totally harshes the boner!

Cassettes are great & I'd highly recommend those! Stay away from combiners though! Pieces of crap! I've never purchased any vehicles or jets however, so I can't comment on there quality or lack there of!

I buy obvious ko's. I enjoy oversize/undersized figures or something with a cool paint scheme.

Also, if its cheap enough, I'll buy it for the hell of it. I got a two pack mini KO victory saber for $3 at the local dollar store.

Oh yeah....the cassettes. I've bought few of those. They're actually pretty good!

Ko's are never better than the originals.

I've bought the really cheap KOs, but I have never bought a KO that tried to pass itself off as the real thing, probably never will, it's not right IMHO. Unless I find a KO Star Convoy for cheap... *hopes and dreads simultaneously*

Personally, i'd never touch a KO. But objectively, if your going to play with, abuse and wear out a toy -- why not spend less for a KO?? If you want to display it, keep some type of value in it, and see it last -- I would only get the originals.
