Probably a little more involved than that; maybe similar to the Powermasters. I think they will closer to those two than Targetmasters or Headmasters.

I doubt it will have anything to do with the game at all. I think the game will stick with the War Within feel. But I wouldn't be suprised if this is a sneak peak into some of the ideas for the new animated series. It would fit. With the movies popularity they probably want to stick with the look and feel of those figures while reintroducing older ideas.

TargetMasters meet Revenge. And wahla, you have a new saturday morning animated series. Or ummm something like that.

We all know that the revenge line will have to start fading out soon, the movie and DVD's are out they have milked a lot out of it and now they need to move on. They will absolutely to a game line. It will last for about 3-6 months with drones and repaints of all the main charaters. during that time or soon after I think there is a good chance we will start seeing the new show figures. Or maybe them first and then the game. ONly time will tell, hasbro wont.

Yeah but there is the whole matter about those leeked images of the prime game proto mold and another racecar proto mold "who's style seems to match this ones". Its quite possible hasbro will sneak some of the game molds into the new line, kinda like they did with megabolt megatron.

It does look like it could be a part Target part Power Master.

Can't help but wonder if there will be some independent alt modes for the little guys, or will it be gun barrels sticking out of their butts again.

It would be nice if they kept the merge simple and used a minicon port. They wouldn't have to go crazy reinventing anything, and old figures(which they're still repainting) could be kept in use.

Also, I doubt the cost of the figures will go down because Takara moved. That doesn't seem like a savings Hasbro wouuld pass along to us.

However, as it was said, time will tell.

True, but didn't Hasbro recently say that Univers would restart late in 2010 with a new Prime and Megatron? They could be saving the game designs for that.

Thats the thing about Universe, they can put anything in there, and not have to worry about a new subline.

It does look like Energon Rodimus's alt mode, but that could be coincidental. Being a mock up, the whole thing doesn't have to be precise to the end product, just enough to get the idea across (there's some on the TF Wiki with Furby packaging used in the moc up, and I recall some BW mock ups on different cards).

That being said...

HOLY CRAP IN A HAT!!!

I am ecstatic over this concept. Take the Mini-Con concept and marry it to master gimmicks and you get awesome toy on shelf available for purchase! I was waiting for my lunch at Captain D's (that was some good stuffed crab) when I saw this on the RFC twitter and about blew a gasket in surprise and excitement.

Which would mean I like it.

I always liked the mini cons that turned into weapons. It added a whole new set of weapons to my already lacking bots and it gave me new bots to play with. I have my classic megatron holding the combining energon sword minicons. It looks great!

The best moc up had to be Classics Prime with the Cabbage Patch Kids pictures behind him :P

I cant wait to see what Optimus Prime looks like! Its kinda like i thought, G1 characters (although we dont know that for sure yet totally) but the concept seems cool and fans seem to like it from what ive read in the various sites.

who whants to bet deceptikhan just punched the wall.

If this is real, my only problem would be that Huffer shouldn't look that cool.

I never minded the Maser or Minicon gimmick outside of when it looked stupid. Basicly it just means more figures, and thats fine with me.

What does this mean? It doesnt seem like an insult, but im not sure what it means either. Its funny to see my name up here though. :) *explain?*

Huh? I dont see that. I see Animated Swindle's alt mode more! ;)

Geeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaat :( :( :(

the gimmicks are back, it was armada before, then energon and finally cybertron. We were told it would be over, no more more kiddie gimmick toys, no more bad cartoons wrapped around the cheap gimmicks. It was going to be straight up transforming toys, good designs, geared towards the older collector. Well it was fun while it lasted.

"Power-Core, ON!!!"

Well at least we got ONE good cartoon that was just straight up cartoon and story, with great guest voice overs. No power this and key that...just a straight animation. Loved it!

There are still two lines gong on for a bit longer, Movie and Classics. And it won't be before long we will have another run of new movie figures to with a new movie.

The only hopeful news is that we might see a toy line based on the new video game (which would have made since to be the next new main line...cartoons and all but whatever).

But as I look over my "dead box" of figures that, well, had cool designs but marred by bad gimmicks I will definitely pass on this line.

Anyone else besides me think that Huffer's design looks very "Animated" inspired?
