Your newest figures and your verdict

Recommended Posts

Just picked up a Sandstorm today and guess what? He's the only one of the three triple changers I have opened. Sandstorm's box was banged up quite a bit, so it was only justifiable to open him :grin.

Overall, not a bad looking figure. It's weird I say this as I was a harsh talked about this toy before he came out. I agree with everything Goldfinger said. His shoulders are kind of loose and to stand him straight up, he looks like he is haunched over due to all the back kibble. But it's not bad kibble as it makes him look robust. Basically, it looks like it belongs.

On another note, they had the Ultimate class Beast Hunters Optimus Prime and WHOAH, this guy looks awesome. If I had the money, I'd get him at $59. Definitely looks better than that that crappy $80 DotM prime!!

I picked up Sandstorm along with BH Ultra Magnus. Sandstorm, for being a retooled Springer is pretty damn neat, big tires and all. His paint scheme does lend itself heavily to the "Caution, people at work" visage but overall it suits him quite nicely. Other than the obvious changes from Springer, he's transformation sequences are nice and his alt modes are pretty great, with the VSTOL portion taking the prize. In an odd way, you could repaint him and with some minor changes, he could become a Batman cross over transformer.

UM, another retooled figure. I got him on a whim cause he caught my eye, however once opened and played with, I like him a lot, but I would have preferred a nice sized UM rifle instead of the backpack. The hammer works, and will be getting a paint job in the near future as well. I'm kinda torn however, I have the first UM they put out last year and it's a difficult matter to choose. I like the first version cause he is a standalone from OP and has his own look going(darker blue and all), which gives me a Wrecker vibe and has that HUGE HAMMER!!/rifle, but that is antithetical to UM as we all know whereas his new version is show accurate and gives him a bit of a prestigious look with being built off of OP's look/mould. I also like the previous UM's alt mode since it borrows directly from TF:A, which I enjoyed that figure a lot as well. Jaded but torn all the same if you will.

Annnnd someone has indeed made a Batman/Springer custom

Masterpiece Acid Storm:

Well, today I did something I said I wasn't going to do and that is purchase Acid Storm. I won't go into his transformation as you've already read about that with be new MP Thundercracker. I will go more into his looks and things though. First off, right of the box, was QC issues as most of wings fell off of him. They snapped back on, but just throwing that out there. Second, his color!! WOW, the green just pops and catches your eye. The flat black sets it off big time. I saw a review where they hated on the digital camo design. It doesn't bother me much, but he could probably have just been all green. I understand they want a military scheme, but the green is so bright, it doesn't really matter. Continuing with the military theme, just like Thundercracker, Acid Storm gets pilot and crew chief names on the side of the cockpit. I'm not sure who these names belong too, but if its like TC's, it's people on the design team. He also comes with the typical pilot, but he's the same bright green color. He looks cool standing amongst the other three seekers! And his eyes are a menacing green that looks absolutely cool!! So, the verdict. Do you need him? No, you don't. If you want an MP for filler or you just want to complete the MP line, get him. If not, don't worry about it. You're not missing anything.

Mp-13 Soundwave: This figure is all kinds of awesome, love that you can put the G1 tapes in him as well as the MP tapes, that just makes him even more cooler. I definitely want to get the KFC Mp sized tapes so He'll have more minions.

Cyberverse Abominus: Picked up the Target set today, and I gotta say I like him. I like that alot of his parts are translucent, and all the weapons being translucent purple give me the dark Energon vibe, and the fully combined weapon is just sweet looking.

Oh and FYI, I tried to see if the Ravage mini figure that came with the 25th anniversary hound figure would fit in MP Soundwave. He does fit, but Soundwaves chest gimmick won't work really well due to Ravage being a bit flimsy.

:agree. MP Soundwave is chock full of awesomeness!! I think I have lost a lot of FB friends with the amount of pictures I've posted of him. I did give the Megatron Walther P38 gun to MP-10B. I think it looks better in Nemesis Prime's hands!!!

On another figure: Beast Hunters Ultimate Class Optimus Prime is a stout figure. There's been a lot of negative reviews and remarks about this figure, but he has pros and cons. His pros are definitely his size and his robot mode. He just towers over everything and looks cool. His cons are easily his alt mode, the giant Unicron ring on his back is not removable, and he needs to come with two swords and get rid of the shield. His alt mode is cool, but there are so many gaps and robot parts that can be seen, that its kind of ridiculous. His sword attaches to one side of the truck and conceals a lot, but it's only on one side. Instead of coming with a shield, he should have come with two swords and then it would even the alt mode out. None the less, the alt mode still will crush the Decepticons. Now, the giant missile launching ring is actually cool. You push down on his chest piece and it rotates to the next missile. Each launcher has a sculpted dragon head. The only problem, is I don't want this thing on all the time. But we can't have it all. If you want a giant Optimus Prime figure, get him. If not, you're not missing anything. He's cool, but not necessarily a must have, especially if you ready have one or both of the Voyager class Optimus Primes from the Prime line. This one is essentially a giant version of the Voyager Class Beast Hunters Optimus Prime. I give him a quick rating of 8 out of 10.

So I haven't posted my hauls in a while but...

Springer for the win!! And Sandstorm was so close by and I'm amazed at just how different they both are! Good job, Hasbro!! Although QC issues came about when Springer got 2x the same tailfin! GAAHHH!! But got a duplicate so I'm okay now! Somehow, getting a duplicate MSIB lessened my spite. LOL! :)

Also got Blitzwing, Grimlock, Blaster and Soundwave...the Cassette/disk so for me it's a new age of Voyagers!! It's nice to have voyagers again with good quality! I'm not even complaining about Grimloch with all the hollowness. Could have been a thicker plastic but all in all I'm completely satisfied!

On the Transformers Prime side I got Skystalker and Darksteel! Love them both but... Darksteel...aaahhhh sooo annoying with the chest cavity that won't stay stationary! Everything else was soo well planned...what happened?? Otherwise they are both solid figures!

Bought the Target Exclusive Abominus set twice (after returning the 1st) and in both cases Twinstrike's right leg doesn't transform properly. That is, the yellow panel that's supposed to swivel doesn't pop out far enough to clear the knee cap or the lower leg. The other leg (left in both instances) is fine, as the yellow panel pops out twice as far as the one on the right for transformation. I'm returning this one tomorrow, and starting to fear all of them are like this. Has anyone found one that works as advertised?

EDIT: I guess third time's the charm, as the one I got today transforms properly. Some of the joints are really loose, with a few of the figures' heads popping off too easily (especially Hun-Grr's). Also, I'm not a huge fan of translucent plastic, although it kind of works for the Predacons. Overall for $25 it is a decent, if flawed, product.

Got Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Ultra Magnus and Grimwing! Both characters are soo awese and since Darksteel I had to get Grimwing! The pair is just amazing still though, that chest cavity not locking in...just annoying.

Also ... Generations TRAILCUTTER!! Was sooo surprised to see him just hanging on a peg all by his lonesome. Wasn't going to buy anything today but fate has forced my hands...to take my wallet out and buy the dude! :). Awesome toy but would be nicer as a voyager. After comparing him with Springer, he does kinda look off but he looks great with the original crew. :)

Wound up finding an Orion Pax last night that I would up totally enjoying! He's small and a good size for a deluxe and it's so nice to have the IDW designs in hand again because I totally enjoy their designs come to life!

The toy himself is awesome although I wish the arms locked in more properly than they do now and the plastic quality is there but it's not there if you know what I mean but everything else he does is awesome!

My only other gripe would be that I wish that he came with another ion cannon for Classics Prime because when I got this guy, I really wanted to give the weapons to Classics Optimus but after trying this I thought that the weapons were a bit too small for such an Iconic character.
