After talking to a few people here on the forums and people I know in real life I found that quite a few people had the same complaints about the movie ROTF. So it got me to thinking, out of all of these things, what is the one single part of ROTF bothered the fans the most. Also for the hell of it I'm going to post little mini-bios for each option.

1. Devastator's "Wrecking Balls"

- Title may be a bit misleading, basically consider this as a "toliet humor" option to choose if you disliked all the humping dogs, fart jokes, ccrude humor, sex jokes, and the grand daddy of them all....Devastator's Wrecking Balls

2. Prime's Face Fetish "

- What is it with Prime and other bot's faces? In every fight he's in he seems to go for the face, and thanks to the final fight in ROTF, this habit of his became pretty creppy with his line "GIVE ME YOUR FACE". Which begs the question, if Prime get's high on energon would he look at a cheeseburger like it was a face?

3. Soundwave sounding like Dr. Claw "

- Here's a pretty funny one in all actuality. In the movie Soundwave's voice sounds like Dr. Claw from the show "Inspector Gadget". In the original G1 cartoon they had some sort of voice editor that gave Soundwave his iconic voice, however even with the original voice actor coming back to do Soundwave's voice it still sounded like Dr. Claw instead of the Soundwave we know and love.

4. Constructi-clones "

-Towards the end of the film after Devastator formed there were multiple occasions where robot models that made devastator were seen attacking Sam and Mikela, these included: Scrapper, Longhaul, Rampage, and even Bonecrusher from the first film.

5. The Twins "

Needless to say there were quite a few fans, African Americans, Hillbillies, Ice Cream truck drivers, soccer moms, intergalactic overlords, and movie critics who simple thought the Twins were vile, racsist, crude and pointless. I wasn'tfigur orignally going to add the Twins to the poll but I figured why not?

6. Plot holes "

A mysterious Allspark shard that can bring an ancient decepticon seeker back to life but can't bring back Optimus? Mikela magically finding top quality medical bandages in the middle of the desert? Having giant alien robots become nothing more than an internet rumor after killing thousands in a heavily populated city? Prime being killed by Megatron even though The Fallen says that only a Prime can kill another Prime. Megan Fox actually having a speaking role in the movie? These are just a few plot holes that filled this perverbial swiss cheese of a film.

7. Insert Character Here "

One of the most frequent complaints I've heard is that there were to many random characters. A few include: Sideways, Sideswipe, Megan Fox, Jolt, Arcee triplets, Grindor, Megan Fox, the Doctor, Megan Fox, and Reedman.

2. Leo Spitz "

Because we obviously have so many other well developed and emotionally complex characters, LET'S ADD ANOTHER ONE!!!!! :redface

Now a quick thing before you vote...and if you already voted then SHAME ON YOU! I want you to know that even with all these complaints I posted, I did like the movie for what it was and I'm not trying to bash the movie and rub Micheal Bay's face into Mojo's leavings....that's reserved for Megan Fox....anywho I love the character designs and the story was a bit better than the whole "your grandfather's glasses are the key to the survival of the human race". So just wanted to make it clear that I'm not posting this to bash on the movie, I just want to know what was the thing fans seemed to dislike the most.

I thought Leo was a little whiny and annoying and I didnt also like that guy that they threw out of the plane

I'd say prime had too much of a blood-lust. There's a huge difference between being the heroic badass prime normally is and the sadistic robot we got in ROTF.

All the sucky human characters come in a very close second for me. Makes me glad we're getting new writers for TF3

In regards to #3... you do realize that Frank Welker was also the voice actor for Dr Claw of Inspector Gadget, right?

Furthermore, the Dr. Claw voice IS the G1 Soundwave voice! It's just that Sunbow electronically modified Welker's voice to make it sound different, something which Welker always hated. In the G1 season 1 episode "Roll For It" when Soundwave says "Excellent, Ravage." Sunbow accidentally forgot to modify Welker's Soundwave voice so you can hear it as it actually sounds and it _is_ the Dr. Claw voice! Don't believe me? Watch this! (3:58)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAUf9naiYmU

So really, from a G1 purist POV ROTF Soundwave's voice is arguably more G1 accurate than G1 Soundwave because it's the way that Welker had _always_ intended for Soundwave to sound like in the G1 cartoon, but Sunbow decided against it.

1. Devastator's "Wrecking Balls"

- If you saw ROTF then you should know this one.

- Yes, I agree this sucks. My main gripe against ROTF is all the unnecessary immature lewd humour. Now I didn't mind it in the first movie because it was done better; it was done less frequently and in a way that didn't disrupt the flow or mood of a scene. I do NOT want to see Jetfire explaining some important and serious key plot point while farting a parachute. Could you imagine if The Empire Strikes Back had been directed this way?

"No, I am..." *farrrt* "...your father!"

th_facepalm_movieprime.jpg

The difference between the lewd humour in TF1 and ROTF is that in ROTF the humour is _forced_ rather than just rolling along naturally with the story. A lot of Bay's lewd humour feels forced. The better humour in the movies are stuff that comes from Shia LeBeouf and Julie White -- like Sam trying to impress Mikaela with his "big arms" or Judy suspecting that Sam might have been masturbating in his room. Lewd jokes aren't inherently bad (Beast Wars has lots of them!) but you know the key thing about delivering a good joke is the timing. Another thing is that the humour in this kind of movie needs to be somewhat believable. I also found some of the jokes at the university scene poor... like Judy getting high on that cookie (although seeing her tackle the guy with the frisbee did make me laugh :P) and why are these students being spoken to like school children?!? (o_O) And that creepy "alpha male" lecturer openly cracking onto female students... um... what?? (O_o) Having said that, the uni scene did also have one of my favourite jokes; "The internet is pure truth!"

...so I'm gonna vote for "Devastator" in this poll representing my disdain for the needless and ill-timed potty humour in this film.

The "give me your face" line was kinda random. I didn't find it bad nor good. Otherwise going for his opponents' faces tactically makes sense. What's more arguable is Prime's seeming lack of compassion against his opponents; ROTF Optimus Prime is a lot more like G1 Dai Atlas. The comics have now gone to explain why he was so merciless against Demolishor, but really, the movie should've done that. Other writers shouldn't need to fix up things like that. *cough*All Hail Megatron*cough* ...excuse me. :P

4. Constructi-clones "

-Towards the end of the film after Devastator formed there were multiple occasions where robot models that made devastator were seen attacking Sam and Mikela, these included: Scrapper, Longhaul, Rampage, and even Bonecrusher from the first film.

Meh, I don't mind it. And it wasn't just Constructicons - Grindor is effectively a Blackout "clone." It allows them to fill the movie with more Decepticon minions without blowing the budget and is also a homage to the G1 Seekers... remember all those purple Seekers? Heck, Sunstorm started off as being just a random yellow Seeker clone in More Than Meets The Eye Episode 1! The existence of Decepticon clones in the movie universe was also previously established in the games.

Surprisingly I like the twins. I wasn't expecting to, but I did! Now I'm aware of the allegations of racism, and I can completely see the validity to that argument... but I don't hate them because of that. I don't hate Jar Jar Binks because he's also loaded with racial stereotypes (I hate him because he's annoying and contributes very little to continuity despite featuring very predominantly in The Phantom Menace; it's the same reason why I hate Wheelie and Daniel in the G1 cartoon)

6. Plot holes "

A mysterious Allspark shard that can bring an ancient decepticon seeker back to life but can't bring back Optimus?

Matrix of Leadership =/= AllSpark Shard

Mikela magically finding top quality medical bandages in the middle of the desert?

I thought she tore a piece of clothing or sock or something.

Having giant alien robots become nothing more than an internet rumor after killing thousands in a heavily populated city?

Sam's parents showed that they knew of the Transformers' existence but supported in keeping their existence a secret for the sake of "national security." Perhaps other witnesses were similarly counselled. Either that or mindwiped (see what I did there?) a la Men In Black. :D

Prime being killed by Megatron even though The Fallen says that only a Prime can kill another Prime.

I thought he said that only _he_ could be killed by a Prime. I guess that as an original generation Prime he can only be killed by another Prime or a descendant of a Prime. Optimus Prime is not part of the original generation of Primes (the Dynasty) thus he wouldn't fall under the same category.

Megan Fox actually having a speaking role in the movie?

How is this a plot hole?

Yeah, I agree with that. :/ But I guess we only care about them because we're TF fans/collectors; for the average audience member they probably don't care. I was jumping with joy when e-Hobby FINALLY gave us a Hauler toy... :P I'm _still_ waiting for a Classics or Masterpiece Time Warrior, damnit!

What bugs me more is that we're not getting TOYS of a lot of these characters... I _want_ toys for:

+ Reedman

+ Alice

+ Scrapper (other than the Legends)

+ Hightower (other than the Legends)

+ Overload (other than the Legends)

...damnit!

1. Devastator's "Wrecking Balls"

No Excuse.

2. Prime's Face Fetish "

He's not our Childhood Optimus Prime.

3. Soundwave sounding like Dr. Claw "

I hope they fix this on the DVD, or in the fan-edit of the film.

4. Constructi-clones "

I can get with clones, however when the fan-edit is released, I expect a lot of these scenes to be switched around to avoid the confusion.

5. The Twins "

I have already stated my hate for the Twins. Do think they were racist? Yes. Do I expect others to have the exact same view as me? No.

6. Plot holes "

A mysterious Allspark shard that can bring an ancient decepticon seeker back to life but can't bring back Optimus?

-Wasn't Jetfire in "Stasis?"

Mikela magically finding top quality medical bandages in the middle of the desert?

-Agree with Goki, i thought she used a sock or something.

Having giant alien robots become nothing more than an internet rumor after killing thousands in a heavily populated city?

-Isn't "Mission City" in California or something? Medical Marijuana is legal......Short term memory loss....

Prime being killed by Megatron even though The Fallen says that only a Prime can kill another Prime.

-Did Prime really die? I mean, did we actually see Prime change to gray?

Megan Fox actually having a speaking role in the movie? These are just a few plot holes that filled this perverbial swiss cheese of a film.

-? She still sucks....but is nice to look at.

7. Insert Character Here "

-Yup. I wish instead of getting a bunch of new characters with next to nothing for development, they should have built on the characters already established in the first film. I wanted to see more Ironhide. I wanted to hear Bumblebee SPEAK! I wanted to see Ratchet work as a field medic. I wanted to see Jazz.....oh wait, never mind.

2. Leo Spitz "

Added nothing, but didn't annoy me as much as the Twins.

I thought the film was OK. I still enjoyed the first film a whole lot more. By the time the third act started, I was already getting bored to be honest. I hated the flow and the editing of the film. I felt like the execution was done very poorly. One example of bad editing..

-During the factory/chase/forest scene. Prime shoots Megatron with bullet time. Megatron is blown away through the wall of the building. Bumblebee drives by, Megatron Transforms and drives away in a different direction. The scene cut to prime and Sam, with Sam getting inside Primes cab, then they drive away, only to be be chased by Megatron? Wait a minute...didn't Megatron already retreat? How is he chasing Prime when he just literally transformed to get away. This really gave me a WTF moment, as far as editing goes. The way the scene plays, it looks as if Prime and Sam were chasing after Megatron, not the other way around. Skip to 3:52 of this clip.

Here is the same scene slightly rearranged for continuity purposes.

Thank you to everyone who has voted, and just so you know all the Megan Fox statements are just little jokes I added mainly because I REALLY dislike the actor (not just in the TF movies but just in general).

First off I want to make sure everyone knows that the listed complaints aren't all mine, they are simply the ones I've heard from people on the forums and in real life, the only two I myself dislike are the Devastator balls and Leo Spitz with Prime's face fetish being something I make jokes about along the lines of "Now son either you mow the lawn or Optimus Prime will steal your face".

Also as I said in the above sentence, I don't think all the complaints are true. The main one I myself had a gripe about putting up there was the Soundwave/Dr. Claw one, mainly because I do know that Frank voiced both Soundwave and Dr. Claw but I just recently found out he hated using that voice editor (thanks to Goktimus Prime). But even without that knowledge I had no problem with his voice, it sounded a bit more menacing and coniving which suited the movie character well since he pretty much is a general instructing his troops into battle.

Lastly I think I'm going to edit the Devastator option to include the whole "crude humor/fart jokes" thing aswell.

Thank you to everyone who has voted, and just so you know all the Megan Fox statements are just little jokes I added mainly because I REALLY dislike the actor (not just in the TF movies but just in general).

I've seen her in real life and she is not incredibly good looking. I wouldn't say she's ugly but I wouldn't rate her as exceptionally beautiful either. :/

Fortunately she compensates with her incredible acting ability. </sarcasm> :P

That was kind of my point :lol

No harm, no foul

Oh man, I can't vote. There's no 'all of the above' option.

In all seriousness, with better writing overall I could have stomached the twins and Jetfire and maybe even Simmons. Mikaela, on the other hand, must go. Meg Fox brings less than nothing to the role. Leo was a constant source of annoyance and should not have been that central of a character anyway. The writers would have been better off finding a way to integrate Sam's character more closely with the more interesting characters in NEST (let's also not forget that they served more of a purpose than practically every other human in the film).

With better writing and less reliance on the odious and odiferous, the more obvious jokes would have come across better. But the whole movie was a punchline and the comedic effect was lost like 5 minutes into the film. And there are some things that simply serve no purpose. Devastator's nuts. I mean, please. Jetfire's flatulence. Alice. Wheelie. Flap and Skids as wannabe-Wayans Brothers. And those are just the characters that annoy me. In the end, other than to sell toys are provide a money shot, there was no use for the Constructicons OR Devastator. They were just there.
