20th Prime on Clearance

Recommended Posts

I haven't seen a 20th prime on store shelves for a few months. So I don't think I'll be seeing this sale. :tftongue

Man that is cheap.

I wish they had sales like that here. But usually it is last years stuff (right now the Armada line). I saw in a store that usually only sells cheap toys (no brand stuff) loads of Skywarps.

I could have gotten a case of 4 for 24 Euro. I paid that much for Thundercracker. :tfmad

But at least he is worth it. :-P (And so is Skywarp.)

I was going to say the same thing! After the 20th Prime I got and then maybe at 2 other stores back in April, I have yet to see another 20th Prime since. So stories like this greatly tease me as I want the black Ion Blaster. And it would be nice to give my future Stepsons a Prime of their own so they can stop wasting their time begging me to hold my Prime.

i'd get another one or two for that price, but alas all my wally's keeping 'em full price.

Yo Shadow Prime! Why don't you pick me up one of those suckers! I'll pay for the shipping and throw you $5 for your trouble! (sorry I'm super broke, but I needz that Prime!). It is the regular ($75) Anniversary Prime right?

20th Anniversary Optimus Prime: sure to be a rare collector's item in years to come. :roll

I dont know, it is fair to say that a mib figure that retailed for 80 will be worth at least double in 20 years, hell 80's joe figs go for 30 bucks a piece to some losers

However, in the 80's the Joe figures were opened and played with by kids, making it more difficult to find pristine figures now. With the rise of eBay and the proliferation of toy collectors, there will always be large numbers of current releases of "collectible" toy lines available MISB in the future.

What will end up being collectible and worth money in twenty years are toys are the popular ones that current kids love, which are likely not going to be the ones being hoarded unopened by speculators.

My Wal-mart still has a ton of 20th Primes...all at full price. :(

Right -- the "collectible" toys 20 years from now will be the ones nobody thinks to collect nowadays. Who would have thought in 1977 that Kenner's cheapo promotional toys for a low-budget film called "Star Wars" would be worth hundreds of dollars today?

The fact is, if there are a kajillion 20th OPs out there, they're never going to go up significantly in value because the market wouldn't support it. "Coolness" doesn't define $$ value nearly as much as rarity does.
