its not really sad, african americans only make up 12 percent of the population, so the numbers dont really require it, and plus, the closest anyone has ever come was that buffoon Jesse Jackson (al sharpton being second) The only other successful candidates have been african american women (shirley chisolm and carole mosely braun) You will see a minority president before we elect a woman, now that is sad

While we're on the topic I always kinda though Optimus Prime was native in a sense.

 

In G1 he was very much like a warrior chief, very father like and compassionate, but knew that he had to fight to protect his loved ones.

 

In BW/BM he was very much a shaman, coming to know himself and his surroundings. Realizing the spiritualistic side of things.

 

Both may be outdated stereotypes, but I think Optimus as a native american is quite suiting.

 

ANYWAYS, back on topic. Lets just agree that ANY transformer would be a better candidate than the two yahoos you americans have running right now. (Don't worry, we in Canada gave up hope on EVER having a decent candidate LONG AGO).

Optimus Prime was a sure-footed leader who almost never doubted himself. He had already made the decision ages ago to completely dedicate himself to the preservation of life and freedom. BW Optimus Primal was in way over his head, and became a leader out of necessity. Towards the end of BW he started to exhibit certain Prime-like qualities (perhaps due to the ol' spark-blending thing). BM Primal spent a long time being either confused, misguided, or depressed.

 

I would say that G1 Prime would be the better candidate b/c he has the greatest amount of self-confidence (coupled with an equal willingness to sacrifice himself for his cause).

G1 Optimus is da winna!!!1 hands down.

 

Maybe Springer? or Prowl? Aside from the evil intent, I do really like Shockwave, although in the cartoon he couldn't even catch and destroy bumblebee....sigh.

We may never have had an African American President, but as far as I see it, despite his voice, he would have a chance. The thing is that Jazz, is not based upon his design. Here are a few things to keep in mind as far as real elections are concerned.

 

The following are regardless:

Age

Race

Gender

Area of birth (unless you're a legal immigrant, like Arnold can never get beyond California Govorner) (but what I mean by "area" is it doesn't matter if you're from the south, or the northwest)

Religion (any candidate can be whatever religion, except maybe Muslim at the moment)

 

These are the only real rules in elections.

 

So Jazz would have a chance, not to mention, though he may not have sounded as good, a white jazz musician could also have probably voiced him. :tftongue :tftongue :tftongue
