I think Wheelie is just misunderstood and hated for no reason, like Jar-Jar-Binks. People's prejudice against the little guy or the underdog shows through when they rip on characters like this. I'm glad Wheelie was in Transformers because it showed that they weren't all these big bad war machines -- they could also be weak and defenseless like we are sometimes. I think there's a little Wheelie in all of us, and if we can drop our defenses and ego long enough, we might recognize that. So who would you trust your family with, Optimus Prime, who knows when to order a strategic withdrawl and when to attack, or Wheelie, who speaks and says every word in rhyme and has an energy slingshot?

But that's just me.

I say even Ironhide over G1 Prime. Why? He always wanted to chase down the 'cons and put them down for good. No more war. Prime always let them go, and then had to deal with them for 30 more minutes in the next episode. Great for keeping a cartoon full of episodes, bad for ending a war.

Ironhide talked a lot of crap. Prime was the only one who actually accomplished anything.

 

 

(Well, I take that back -- Mirage did kind of save the Autobots in MTMTE.)
