ROTF Voyager Megatron Jet Mode

Recommended Posts

I got my camera to work, so here's another alternate transformation for ya. Yes, it holds together fine, just like the original one did. It doesn't need to 'peg' or 'snap' together to work. If that were true, then the robot mode would be even worse as nothing snaps in place it all. :roll

Look at how the back pice and wings end up at an odd angle though. They're tilted forward and raised up, killing their aerodynamics. Nothing lines up anymore.

This mode is meant to be used more as a 'space ship' anyway. It really doesn't matter.

Also, the aerodynamics were fine on the original, so my other point remains valid. :bounce

BTW, this is meant for fun. Take this too serious and it kills the topic.

Edit: Wanted to add something on "aerodynamics." If you are so concerned about this issue, perhaps you should take a look at the back of your version of this mode. I'm not an expert on aircraft, but wouldn't all those gaps between the wings and everything else create problems?

No, not really. The air flows over and through creating lift, it doesn't have a lot of vertical walls disrupting the flow of air. Even with the treads exposed as they are, their orientation is such that the air would flow over and under them, acting as an airfoil, not as a wall. The overall shape of the upper surface is also relatively smooth and continuous, which also allows the air to flow more smoothly and continuously adding to the lift and reducing drag.

You have the treads basically creating a flat wall between the wing unit and the fuselage, not only , creating a serious amount of drag just from that alone, but also breaking up the contours of the ship's upper surface adding more drag while reducing lift. As a result, it's not a very functional jet mode, and ultimately, that's what this topic is about—creating a functional jet mode for Voyager class Megatron.

No, not really. This topic is about fun, and all you doing is attacking anyone who doesn't agree with you. I can see why you get the reputation you do, and I think I will just ignore you from here-on. It's not worth arguing with someone like you. You are convinced that you are right and that anyone who posts with you or against you is an evil that must be silenced. To put it simply, you're a fool.

Now, for anyone who actually has an imagination that reads this and actually gets what this topic is for, here's another jet for you. This one is more space-oriented like my last one, but it also holds together better.

Firepaw, No one is attacking you. I gave you an honest critique of the issues of your configuration.

I know I said I was going to ignore this, but I just wanted to point out that that is the classic "troll" response. Ignore the bulk of the message, key words like "anyone", and past happenings in this very topic. I was reluctant to post in this topic in the first place because of you arguing with everyone as if this is a serious topic about life and death.

I'll be honest I've always liked the original best. I mean a JET with TANK treads just looks strange ( peers over at animated blitzwing ), even if it is an alien jet. Plus I think trying to say that one mode is better because of aerodynamics kinda defeats the purpose of this thread. I mean just seeing those first pictures is one of the reasons I bought voyager megatron. Thanks a lot vbann!
