I can understand from a business standpoint why they doing it... Competition among their own products in this economy is a bad idea... Especially the money invested into ROTF compared to Animated and its a no brainer... I dont like it but I can understand...

Once again putting all their eggs in one basket. If the movie & toys bomb, there's nothing else on the shelves to pick up the slack. It's not competition - ANimated and Universe complemented each other by being distinctly different and appealing to different tastes. More of the potential market was covered. By making ROTF the only TF line, there's no "backup". It's unlikely that ROTF will bomb, but it's not impossible. Besides, I'm looking at a TF drought for the next year & a half or so while there's nothing decent on the shelves. And I know I'm not the only one who feels that way.

I feel the same way man... There is only a few figures I am picking up from the ROTF line... I think its kind of refreshing... For the first time since starting this hobby I might actually save money... The import scene is still there if I need a TF fix...

I at least want a chance to get that cliffjumper dand it!!

Seriously, the only thing I kinda cared about was Arcee in this.. and realistically, I could of forgone Oil Slick or Elite Guard Bee to make it happen. I mean, Oil Slick is the only Team Charr guy so far thats had a toy.. and in the show, it's not even an accurate alt mode.

I dunno.. I think Arcee was put off for so long was because she was a background character, and I don't think the target audience would understand her significance. Hence, all the stupid Bumblebee Repaints.

Seriously though, I don't think this will be the end of the Arcee mold. They brought back the TiT line for like two different toys, Prowl and Grimlock. It wouldn't surprise me if she ends up a store exclusive down the road. The movie is just comin up too quick.. and hasbro would be FOOLS not to capitalize on it.

If Animated doesn't get the revival everyones hoping for, who wants to bet these will be Botcon figures in the near future!?!

I can feel the angst now :tflaugh

Either way, don't like the Animated style, happy to see it go.

I agree. But, if you are gonna show toys as upcoming, then hold back that aint good business..

See Parents would buy the cute one over the girl.

:fire I SWEAR!!!!!!!!!! I've been wanting for Acree since the G1 cartoon and here I thought I was going to get finally her, but NNNNOOOOOOOOO.

Who cares about one transformer line competing with another one(besides Hasbor). A sell is a sell and I have yet to see anything of the ROTF line to impress me. I feel that the gimmick this time around is very very weak. Animated is the best thing they have come up with yet.

You might as well say that the Animated show is cancelled and as well as any future toys all because of the movie. Same thing happened with Alternators back when the first movie came out and that was just supposed to be suspended and we have yet to see anything new.

Although live action movie is great but I bet a Transformers Animated movie would have been better.

You're forgetting that many Animated fans ARE girls, and like pink girl transformer girl characters. I have 3 daughters who would rather have Arcee than Bumblebee any day. And they saw the prototype on my computer. They own all the the motorcycles from Energon/Universe/Movie #1 (as well as I think 2 or 3 Animated Blackarachnias) and love them and play with them all the time, as well as RH Arcee and Blackarachnia. If counted all together, my son plus all three girls probably own 1/2 to 2/3 of the Animated toys, but mostly likely if this was really produced, my family would have been buying at least 4, maybe 5 Animated Arcees---1 for me, 1 for each girl and probably a separate one for my son. I won't be buying multiples of any of the movie toys (will buy very few)---and it's doubtful that my kids even recognize the motorcycles from this movie as parts or whatever of some kind of feminine bot.

We-ell... it'll be released eventually whatever happens. Hasbro aren't going to take stock photos then not release a toy they've already paid to develop. Given Arcee's in the new movie we might even see a "Legacy of Arcee" pack featuring this toy, Arcee from the first movie and ROTF Arcee. But certainly this and the other unreleased Animated toys will probably appear after ROTF is done. I also don't think Hasbro are going to try to stretch ROTF as far as they did the first film, I don't think the market ATM can support that.

No you are just a good 'rent. Most will see the war bots and think "boys toys" and see the dollies in pink boxes as girls. Now most of the parents will see the cute little guy and assume that because there are 6 different types in the shop he must be a fave character and buy him. Seeing the pink car in amongst the bikes and bugs and trucks wouldn't enter their "purchase for little Peter" mindset.

Hasbro had a PERFECT market waiting for this little pink car though. They had her established as an important character, they had her marketed by the web, they had everything ready/ Then they remembered they are Hasbro...
