TCC: Animated Arcee Figure Cancelled For the Time Being

Recommended Posts

I hope they do Universe 3.0 with Animated figures with the same Animated stylings but with better plastic.

I actually prefer Animated plastic over Universe...

^ Me, too, it was stylish. My gripe with it was how easily it wore down.

Although its a shame for Arcee completists and Animated apologists everywhere, I sure as the pit DON'T want to see ANY animated toys whatsoever in the Universe line. They don't belong around other TF figs as they have a design that sets them apart from all other TFs (with the exceptions to the Tonka Gobots, perhaps and those cute Transformer Heroes figs).

Animated is Animated: leave them where they belong.

Universe encompasses EVERY TF line. If the show and toy line die, Universe Animated toys are the last bastion for those of us who love Animated. Take that away and someone's head will roll.

Actually, if you do the math...based on their past Animated releases, we'll get these sometime around the beginning of 2010! :doh They've f'd up this line since the beginning...

Thats actualy real funny. A friend of mine who's into mecha but not realy Transformers came over the other day. He's familair with my collection, and knows TFs pretty much through me.

Now back in the day I was buying the Go-Bot Transformers for my nieces and nephews, so he knows them too.

He sat down, picked up Wreck-Garr and Sentinel Prime and asked if they started making them again for G1 characters.

I know this line has a certain style but I hope the super easy, streamlined, happy look kinda fades away...

Cool stuff canceled in favor of the movie toys. I guess Hasbro doesn't want my money all that bad - I picked up very little of the first movie figures, and little of the new line appeals. Animated, however, was like potato chips - I just couldn't stop. I was going to just get the core characters - I got almost everyone. So why is Hasbrovputting all their eggs in one basket and putting everything into the movie, instead of keeping the other lines going as sidelines for those that don't like the movie aesthetic? Universe didn't cut into Animated's sales, and those that didn't like the Animated aesthetic had an alternative. So why can't they offer an alternative to the movie stuff? It's short-sighted.

I can understand from a business standpoint why they doing it... Competition among their own products in this economy is a bad idea... Especially the money invested into ROTF compared to Animated and its a no brainer... I dont like it but I can understand...

just put us out of our waiting misery, hasbro and just announce that animated is over................and then, and then rerelease them in the future as part of the Universe Line then we'll be happy again yeahhhh thats a good ideaaaaaaaaaaa yeahhhhhh...

Ahem...

Once again putting all their eggs in one basket. If the movie & toys bomb, there's nothing else on the shelves to pick up the slack. It's not competition - ANimated and Universe complemented each other by being distinctly different and appealing to different tastes. More of the potential market was covered. By making ROTF the only TF line, there's no "backup". It's unlikely that ROTF will bomb, but it's not impossible. Besides, I'm looking at a TF drought for the next year & a half or so while there's nothing decent on the shelves. And I know I'm not the only one who feels that way.
