This thread should be locked as it promotes fraud. I don't know if this is illegal or not, but it should be. It's definately immoral.

No. That would be dishonest.

*runs and checks wallet, which turns out to be empty*

Yeah, dishonest.

technically its not fraud and is not against the law and is not technically immoral either, unethical perhaps but is debateable.

Kudos to Sangron, I love finding loopholes, what a pity I am in the UK at the moment :(

This topic shouldnt be locked as is a good promoter of discussion and whether you agree with it or not, no-one should force their beliefs upon others (everyone should just agree with mine then the world would be a happier place lol)

I have no problem with getting a little rebate from a multi billion dollar organisation as if you look just below the surface you can see some of the unethical things they have perpetrated in the name of profits

Power to the people lol

;)

the way i look at it, the toy is mint and walmart will probably sell it for full price so it's no sweat off their nuts and nobody is losing anything, so everyones happy.

i say if you have the means...go for it! :thumb

Exactly.

While personally I frown upon theft--- and yes, this is theft, whether you want to admit it or not-- There is nothing in the forum rules that orders such a discussion locked. So long as the topic stays in respectable debate (ie.. no flames), it's cool. :nuts

how do you figure it's theft? you get your $150 from walmart, then walmart sells the 3 uni's for $150 so it evens out...nobody takes a loss.

the only way it's theft is if the 3 uni's returned are all stolen from another store, or were used and can't be resold, which in this case they're not.

sure it's not the most honest act in world but most people do a lot worse.

It is, in fact, fraud by the simple fact that you are "returning" toys to a store that you -didn't- get them from and receiving a "refund". See, by even the most basic definition, that's called "fraudulent".

And, by that same token, it is most likely illegal, just like other frauds and scams.

Have you bothered to look at any Wal*Mart's on-shelf supply of Unicrons(both Armada, Armada-in-Energon Box AND Energon)?

The things are not moving, and the likelyhood they they'll actually get that money back is small, as they will either sit on the shelf or be placed in the back with the rest of the overstock, since the shelves are probably already full of them. (add to that the sudden glut they'll have because stupid people will read this and run out to do it..)

No matter what you tell yourself so you don't feel guilty, it -is- wrong, and this thread -should- be locked, simply because the original post advocates and describes how to pull off what is most likely a crime..

Not that locking it at this point will make much difference, unless the mod who locks it also erases the original post.

greatshot already said there was no rule about closing topics dealing with theft, although i whole heartedly agree with you about how wrong this is
