greatshot already said there was no rule about closing topics dealing with theft, although i whole heartedly agree with you about how wrong this is

Funny... seems I recall at least one other thread being locked and edited because it described and encouraged basically the same thing this one does.

*shrug*

technically its not fraud and is not against the law and is not technically immoral either, unethical perhaps but is debateable.

Kudos to Sangron, I love finding loopholes, what a pity I am in the UK at the moment :(

This topic shouldnt be locked as is a good promoter of discussion and whether you agree with it or not, no-one should force their beliefs upon others (everyone should just agree with mine then the world would be a happier place lol)

I have no problem with getting a little rebate from a multi billion dollar organisation as if you look just below the surface you can see some of the unethical things they have perpetrated in the name of profits

Power to the people lol

;)

It is, in fact, fraud by the simple fact that you are "returning" toys to a store that you -didn't- get them from and receiving a "refund". See, by even the most basic definition, that's called "fraudulent".

And, by that same token, it is most likely illegal, just like other frauds and scams.

There is no question that this is fraud and to be so blunt and unapologetic is kinda sad....Dark_Lord_Prime is more than right.

Dagnabit, I didn't think this was going to be a much discussed topic. I wonder how many of us downloaded music or any other unknown stuff that might be considered unethical to others. I got this idea from Turbine (sorry to get you into this buddy). By the way, I meant "a friend" did this. :tftongue

this isnt the first time ive seen someone post instructions similar to your "friend's" actions, it is just that none of the others actually started a thread about it

No matter what kind of reasoning some of you guys are thinking off, and regardless of legal loopholes, this is fraud and theft at the same time, and totally immoral. So does it mean that we can promote scalping too since it's not technically illegal either?

Honestly I don't understand why this can't be locked while other threads that are about file sharing of videos isn't. Is it just because file sharing is illegal and this technically isn't?

Software, and video pirates would also reason out that corporations make tons of money anyway and their products are way overpriced. Still stealing is stealing, and what you guys are trying to promote is stealing.

Exactly.

While personally I frown upon theft--- and yes, this is theft, whether you want to admit it or not-- There is nothing in the forum rules that orders such a discussion locked. So long as the topic stays in respectable debate (ie.. no flames), it's cool. :nuts

I don't think it's theft. All you are doing is buying from one place and "selling" it to another. Although the one "buying" the items doesn't have a choice nor are they buying the items at dealer price. If anything, the act is immoral since you more or less need to lie in stating that the items were originally bought from a Walmart.

Trying to move the light off your self and on to others eh? TFans.com doesn't allow threads about file sharing for the same reason why this thread should be closed, because it's about stealing. :tfhuh
