Sooooo... Revenge of the Fallen, anyone?

It's Schrodinger's Film. It might completely suck, but it might also not suck. But there are no Schrodinger Fans. Most are idiots. The rest are either jackasses or morons

:D

Thanks for the back up guys!

You don't need back up when dealing with a Troll, you need a mob ;)

Or rather a flame artist, which from what I've read on the last couple pages, that be you, ma'am.

Fix'd..... :inhrf

I'm more in the school of thought that people need to remember that the 80s was nearly 2 decades ago and stuff does tend to change. The movie doesn't have the same critera as the original toon movie did.. (which really was to unveil a new set of toys and to hell with telling a story) <--- thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it. See, after a certain point, the classic 80s stuff begins to look like uneducated dribble. I've seen modern kiddie shows like Batman: The Brave and the Bold that have much more deeper thoughts and meanings than the "slap it together because we don't give a frag" additude the originators of Transformers had. And you can't argue with that, considering one of the directors of G1 virtually said so on one of the rhino DVDs. Retcons in G1? They don't exists. There is nothing to retcon with.

That being said, I love what I've seen from the first movie. You really need to see these things in motion before you can judge if the toy works or not. I remember seeing that clip of Screamer Tfing over the Hoover Dam.. I could watch that sequence over and over again.. but if you're only looking at it from the toy - which really doesn't do the 3d models much justice simply because they cant.. *glances at TF Movie Megatron .. then yeah, you're going to get an inaccurate picture of what's going on.

Second movie, I'm kind of reserving judgements.. I don't forsee many big purchases because all I've seen aside from a few deluxes are retools of the voyagers from the previous line.. which I don't have a compelling need to get. The only one who's not jiving with me is big devestator.. both in terms of design and color.. he needs a unified color scheme, because he looks like that cheap Walgreens Knock off Devesatator.. and his name also bugs me because of "Brawl" .. but what I have seen, outside of devestator and the voyagers.. I really like the deluxes as of yet. As long as they don't give me another Movie Payload.. I'm good.

As for animated.. I really don't want to see it go. I've really enjoyed it. But I do feel that the writers are going to wrap it up.. they're tying up a lot of loose ends.. they've produced a lot of great imaginative toys that have stuck true to the animation model as closely as possible.. and still manage to have a wide variety of expression and articulation. I haven't seen anything come out of Japan thats been this good for me.. I guess I just don't like Japformers as much as I likes me Beast Wars and Animated.. :shrug

Thanks for the back up guys!

Well DUH... I even kindof put that in there. But it's impossible to have a proper discussion with someone like that, spouting their opinion as fact and making his opinions on the topic wrapped in insults. And I did actually say something like that earlier on as well :P

Thanks for the back up guys!

I couldn't agree more!!! The Billy Goats couldn't do it by themselves!

Hey guys, I apologise for the controversy this thread seems to have caused with arguments etc. I didnt mean to offend anyone - I was just wondering if anyone felt the same! First off I should say I am not an obsessive G1 fanboy, I mean fair enough i did have some preconceptions about the original movie but it was generally great I thought. As I said previously I am looking forward to the movie, what I should have made myself more clear about was that I was sick of the stupid amounts of ridiculous ROTF toys that keep coming eg. the luminous coloured weird looking things like I think it was Skids (lumious green car anyone?) anyway again I'm not trying to spout hate or cause hate, and I apologise again if anyone has been offended by what i started.

Thanks for the back up guys!

What a sad lot.

"Thanks, guys! I had no salient points and couldn't hold my own, so I resorted to telling him to 'screw off' and labelling him a troll. Sniff".

When you all aren't falling in line to fellate Michael Bay, you're fighting the tyranny of differing (and/or minority) opinions as a collective.

I guess bravery isn't dead.

"G1 fanboy". Harsher words have never been spoken.

Lessee...I enjoyed much of Generation 1 (which I estimate 75 - 90% of the fandom does/did). Damning. Damning accusations.

And being a Bay-boy is somehow a noble and prideful thing?

BTW, I never said I wanted the live movie to be G1 re-hashed. I only said that to call it "realy good" (as if it was Casablanca or Shawshank) was laughable. We all knew that big changes would have to be made, but not the insipid and inane ones Orci and Kurtzman made.

To be called a troll by the persons in this thread is really a compliment. It's apparently tech for "person who thinks for himself and doesn't shrink when people respond with knee-jerk hostile loyalty".

And the childish behavior by Snatch and liege confirmed what I knew about Bay-boys and Bay's crappy movies. (The "christian" that claimed he loved several of Bay's overly violent and near-pornographic films was too amusing...)

BUT...In a weird way you lot have done me a favor or two. Transformers is a failed franchise, you're right. What I loved about the originals IS gone and Hasbro really doesn't know how to treat a property. So, I'll be making some money as I sell off a good portion of my collection.

You criticize people who have loyalty to the original Transformers, who no doubt still make up the majority of adult fans, but if someone criticizes your precious Bay-niverse, you go ballistic with "oh, yeah, well you suck!". Hypocrisy.

So, the Star Wars fans comparison still stands. If George Lucas videotaped himself defecating a lightsaber, Star geeks would pay $11 to see it. In much the same, if anyone DARES to accuse Michael Bay's films of not being quality, they must be a "G1 fanboy troll".

As I recently learned at a "comic" convention, fans and fandoms just plain suck, and I don't want any association with them.

Then why are you here being a troll, ie an attention seeking d*** who's only purpose is to provoke other forum members to respond with strong, usually negative, emotions. If you enjoy G1 so much and what hasbro was like at that time, maybe you should do us all a favor and go back to 1984 and stay there.

On topic: It does make sense that this forum is about the ROTF toys, rather than the movie, now that you mention it. I'm split about that. I'm sick and tired of hearing about the craptacular toys, like skids and mudflap, but I eat up everything I can about prime and perhaps jetfire. I need to see some photos of the actual jetfire figure before I say that figure is worth it. Either way, can it just be may already?
