Should the TF Movie have a soundtrack?

Recommended Posts

If the movie going to take place in the 80's, why not have 80's music?

For instance, Van Halen would be a good example. " Jump" would be perfect for an ending tune. Maybe system of a down for a battle scene. Oh, and lastly, rap sucks.

I never wanted any rap in the first place.

If rap made it into the movie, somebody would really need to get their @ss kicked.

I agree, if the movie takes place in the 80's then it should have 80's music or even a remake of 80's songs from current bands.

Though if the movie takes place in current time, then some bands from today should play

Band-driven soundtracks ruin movies. They always distract from scenes and are always a really conthrived ploy at keeping the hip simple-minded ADD stricken generation of kids entertained. Always too concerned with having cool music video scenes, instead of a good script. But this is why movies like Spiderman and LoTR go on to become cinematic masterpieces, while junk like Fast and the Furious fades into oblivion within a year...

My cheif example...

Interview with the Vampire vs. Queen of the Damned.

Amazing first film..dismal trendy sequel that Anne Rice removed her name from....

It is not fair to blame the soundtrack on the failure of queen of the damned. the acting killed that movie (am pained to say anything bad about the late Aaliyah) soundtracks pull people into the theatre, and beleive it or not gents after the hulk fiasco, a POP soundtrack will be needed to see this movie to the nonmainstream, or at least some bombass toys (which will probably be released too late (matrix) or too soon

You guys really need to stop bashing rap music. it is based off the foundation of all music, and is the most prevalent music out there now, it is not going anywhere..

You need to stop assuming that all hip hop is that garbage made by 50cent and the cash money millionairs. go to Okayplayer.com and learn about the roots, and Jean Grae. check out cypress hill (one of the best hip-hop band ever!!!) the work that the neptunes are doing as well.

And lets not forget about the WU.. one of the hottest soundtracks out there was scored by Robert Diggs (The RZA) of the WU-Tang. Can anyone admit that there was an artist that could have done a better job with Kill Bill V1

no as I end my rant, take time to explore a genre before you bash it, you same guys that diss hiphop, will go and cream over a Linkin Park album, and that wouldnt even exist without hiphop

Im no fan of rap either but you make some good points. I like Cypress Hill a lot, and a lot of todays metal/rock wouldnt exist w/o hip hop influence. Im a fan of Disturbed, Papa Roach, System of a Down, etc and all of these do show heavy hip hop influence.

I think that current music is necessary to this movie, as well as throwing in some stuff from the past just to keep it from sounding dated in a few years. Which is also why the stuff that is considered 'trendy' like L.P. should be avoided, as opposed to good hard rock which never goes out of style, like Disturbed or System.

I think that Anthrax is perfect for the movie, specially the last album "Weve come for you all".

And of course instrumental and classic.

Okay how about a modern twist to the old movies soundtrack.. but keeping Weird Al, asking him to remix Dare to be stupid..

I could see Rob Zombie doing the main theme! :tfevil

Or how about the composer that did the Hercules and Xena shows as well as the soundtrack for the Masters of the Universe cartoon- the newer version.

Just no rap! or I will not bother spending money on seeing this movie! :tdown

how can you say no rap in the same post as asking someone to REMIX a song, the concept of remixxing a song is a hiphop concept, no other genre's did this before hiphop (covers and different takes being the exception) but the original artist reworking thier song with a new beat/lyrics is a Hiphop age function

For the love of god please stop bashing hiphop music, it has done nothing to you, except put some of your favorite bands out of business for lack of record sales

For one thing I never did bash rap. I just believe it has no place on the soundtrack if there is one.

For another, I love hip-hop and rap just as much as I love rock and heavy metal.

Just getting my story straight

I appreciate that opinion, but I think a good hiphop track would be good for a chase scene, I have no preference on an artist, but an instrumental might be nice...

as prime's theme song, hell no!!!

(I vote for system of a down to do meg's theme)
