I was in Walmart yesterday and Samuri Prowl and Waspinator were there. I'm not a fan of the beastwars/insect transformers but am a big fan of the the Animated Series. Before the prices went up would have had no problem buying both. But yesterday when I left, poor Waspinator was left behind. Is anyone else feeling the hurt of incresed prices?

Well that's ... comical. But yeah $13 for a deluxe is overboard.

I think this just balances out the EXCELLENT prices we got over the holidays. Plus, this is the slow season for TF's, usually. Even though WE may still buy Transformers, most other people aren't.

Well, hopefully soon I'll be seeing them there. Unfortunately, they're about the only place left that's close to me that keeps up with what's supposed to be out. My local Targets just seem to have stopped carrying Aniamted Deluxes altogether, and the closer of two TRUs here are still stuck on Wave 3. All that's there are dozens of Oil Slicks. Nothing new. Universe is not a problem.

 

However, to finish a project I have in mind, I do need a second Samurai Prowl.

I have a feeling it'll drop around June to lure us away from TRU, but yeah, it's a alot.

I think I bought 15 deluxes (complete with a couple returns, of course) over that time period. I was mad spending back then. It was awesome.

Yes it was... i am not a fan of the animated line.. but I do give ethem as gifts for some of my son's younger friends.. Birthdays and such. I bought about 6 of them at that price, and stuck up in the closet to give away as BD gifts over the next year. :D

Deluxes cost $10 when the size class was introduced with Beast Wars in 1996. According to this inflation calculator, $10 in 1996 dollars is $13.09 in 2007 dollars (2007 is the most recent year the page would calculate for.) I don't see what the big deal is about this.

Just think if they already have the one you give them they can take it back and get almost double what you paid for it for something else. :tflaugh
