the definitive transformers collectible

Recommended Posts

I have a fairly healthy collection of transformers, but it appears that the one item that says transformers to EVERYBODY is g1 optimus prime (actually pepsi prime at work :redface )

what is it to you and the people that are around you

20th Anni Optimus Prime it took me 4 years to put him back in the box. His, Comm Soundwave, and MP Starscream's are the only boxes I have saved lately. The only other boxes I had saved were the Alts but theirs went into the trash when the 24 boxes started taking up too much room.

l have to say 20th/MP Prime as well. l mean, c'mon. He and MP Megatron look awesome on any shelf. Really, they R all you need.

G1 Blitzwing

Takes me back to 1985 anytime I pick it up.

When I think of iconic TF toys G1 Prime, Bumblebee, Soundwave, Grimlock and some others come to mind. I really don't think I can pin it down to one single bot as the most definitive to me.

I would have to throw 20th/MP Optimus out there with the rest of the previous posters, but if I had to grab one if the house was on fire, it would most likely be my MP/Wal-mart Starscream. Between the excellent bot mode and ultra clean alt mode, he just simply amazes me every time I pick him up. G1 Jetfire rounds out my top 3 though.

G1 soundwave... no one confuses it as anything else or confuses anything else with it like mp prime and g1 prime. people come into my office and say "i used to have optimus prime too" and point to g1 perceptor. :roll :sad

soundwave and blaster get confused with each other alot >_>

it's really hard to pin down a definitive collectible because there are a few that i feel are noteworthy, but if i had to chose i would go with the rest of the crowd in saying that a collection cannot be complete without having some form of the MP Prime, either mp01, 20th, or dvd prime. he was the best birthday present i've ever received from somebody that isn't immediate family (wife's uncle's family gave him to me). however, if i could only pick one bot out of my collection to save it would most certainly be my TRU soundwave just because he's my favorite character and it's the closest i've been able to come to a mint G1 soundwave.

What every collection should have is yes a G1 Prime. 20th is awesome, but hardly difinitive.

I think also though, a G1 Jazz, and a handful of minibots are a must. round it off with one headmaster body with no head and your off to a good start.

If you wanna pick up the pace, Jetfire and Metroplex.

The piece Id cut your throat to save though would either be Overlord or Deszarus

The definitive collectable?

The entire line.

Which line?

ALL OF THEM.
