So here's my thing. Springer is my 2nd favorite of the "new" TFTM characters (Cyclonus is #1). I want him represented in my Classics/TFU collection. So my dilemma is which Springer do you think would be better? And I don't want both, as that would just not work for my personal collection. So what ya think?

Well, going by name, he fits the 'copter better. That, and I like the mold a LOT better than CD Hot Shot.

Do you like his G1 Toy? If you do, then I'd recommend actually Universe Roadbuster. He's the CD Hot Shot mold, but his color scheme calls to mind the G1 figure better than any other one.

 

But if you want a general Springer, I'd definitely go Universe 2-pack. The Evac mold is wonderful, and it works pretty well for Springer.

Botcon. He's a little bit taller than Classics Hot Rod, the face looks like Springer, & the armored car mode fits when compared to the original. And he can actually hold the sword he comes with. Plus the collapseable legs give credence to the original character description which gave him his name, that he could spring up & leap great distances. Having a helicopter alt-mode kinda negates the entire premise of the character, why jump when you can fly? Plus being a deluxe class, he'll be in line with the upcoming Cyclonus and the current Galvatron and titanium Scourge, as well as the afformentioned classics Hot Rod, cybertron Blurr, titanium Rodimus Prime, and even the titanium Ultra Magnus if you managed to snag one (or regular classics Magnus with or without the city commander armor set).

 

Anyway, just for extra comparison, the comic two-pack Springer is taller than classics Jetfire, Optimus & Magnus. The blades on the left arm are unwieldy for use as a 'sword' and the winch gets in the way in robot mode unless you fold out the rear 'wings' which looks kinda tacky IMO. The mold is decent enough overall itself though, but I honestly like it more for Blades than I do for Springer, as far as Classics go. On the upside however, the two-pack is a fraction of the cost of the Botcon Springer alone, and you also get a Ratbat that will fit in just fine with your classics as well, if you liked the War Within depiction of him being a full robot that is.

If you want to stay true to G1 then get the helicopter Springer.

As for the options on hand, you have to ask yourself both which of Springer's alts do you prefer, and how much are you willing to spend?

aaahhh the dilemma I face as well...he's my #2 next to Ultra Magnus. As I really don't want either of the options(I want a new mold!!!) I think the Botcon mold looks much better. The Evac mold is nice...for Evac...but dosen't say Springer to me at all. I have decided to pursue the Botcon one...no matter the cost...almost.

Well my thing is I think the Roadbuster 2-Pack repaint is very nice looking and I dig it, but I really think the BotCon Springer looks like Springer much more so than the Evac Mold. I want a proper Springer Triple-Changer, but I'm thinking we're not gonna get one any time within the near future. The price only mildly factors in, so that's not really an issue so much.
