Universe Combaticons & Legends Brawn and Beachcomber

I'm just worried about the price. The constructions for classics, were around 30 dollars. Which is understandable and works. But with the price increase it could be like $40 or more.

Personally i think the colors are what IS or ISNT going to sell this piece well. I dont think they want to give other combiners parts b/c they most likely have plans for the Airialbots ;)

And maybe even Devastator again :shrug

All i know, is as long as it looks good, im fine with the mold ESPECIALLY the (even know it shows it on the instruction booklet that it doesnt have, it could have new) hands/feet!

I don't think reuse of the limbs is a concern with these molds....

Yeah, when I take my head out of my G1 rectum, I concede that two tanks and two helicopters makes a lot more sense on a "military" team. Variety is cool and all, but I suppose this would be more realistic.

The ideal would be slightly retooled helicopter cockpits and tank cannons on this set so I could mix-and-match with the Energon figures to give the illusion of multiple "types" of vehicles from the same two molds.

But I think I'll get over it.

SCRAMBLE CITY'D

For those who really want hands for this find an old set of G1 hands, and alter how you tf the helicopters for arms so you can use the lower legs as lower arms, and plug the hands into the helicopter feet. Then again you could use the laser hands too.

Made out of lasers and :win.

If this is being sold as some kind of G1 tribute, I think the least Hasbro could do is make those parts in gray, green, black, you know, something normal.

I'm sure I've mentioned it before elsewhere... reissuing these energon combiners for Classics is a good idea (for the most part). In this particular case, the issue I have with this set is the names only. They've already issued Onslaught as a standalone piece. The rest of them can very easily be his combaticon team, and combine without him, but reusing the name Onslaught when we just got a new version bugs me a bit. Like I mentioned earlier, to make a good homage/throwback while keeping it reasonably accurate with the molds, the 'copters should be Vortex & Spinister, the tanks Brawl & Quake, and make the body Swindle, the black-market arms dealer (make him somewhat badass for once). Yes, it would be cool if we'd gotten one of the energon aerialbots resymboled as Blastoff, but I can deal with that.

That being said, if they do the energon Aerialbots for Classics, as I'm sure we'll see now, the same issue comes into play with Silverbolt already being released in a new standalone mold. In this case, my vote for names would be: Air Raid, Dogfight, Fireflight, Slingshot, & Skydive. As it is, I have the energon set with my classics with Silverbolt using those names (and a set of KO Superion fists too). IF they'd never released the new Onslaught & Silverbolt molds, I would have no qualms about them reusing all the original G1 names, but since they did, I would hope they'd have chosen new team member names that make sense.

hmm....if those "energon" hands and feet end up being clear red....that will be interesting....in a possibly good way.

but silver/gray would be better.

oh, and to solve the whole "two Onslaughts" problem -

Onslaught is the standalone Combaticon, with Barricade as a sub-commander who commands (and combines with) the other Combaticons.

Told you guys those helicopters had Decepticon symbols.

I have always been a fan of combiners and was hoping for more of these since classics Devastator. I actually missed out on this piece from the Energon line so I will definitely be picking this up. Not to bothered about the names, I can use my imagination, it is still Bruticus after all! I just hope they repaint it as close as possible to itz G1 counterpart. :tfevil
