Who cares if you don't know who the Fallen is? You think Mr. Average Summer Movie Goer is going to be all, "OMG WHO TEH FUKK IS TEH FALLEN HE WUZNT IN GEE WUN!!!" No. They'll go for more big robots and big explosions. Hell, I still know people who swear up and down the Dinobots combined in the original cartoon. Unless one constantly researches this crap, their memories will be fuzzy at best, so they won't care if a brand new character is introduced.

 

OMG WTF I AM NOT A G1 FANBOY!!! Heck, I wasn't even alive back then. I'm just fifteen for f's sake. All I'm saying is that Bay or whoever is behind him is using transformers as an advertisement thing (and yes, I know that the shows are all 30 minute long advertisements for the figures), and that I would prefer the alt forms for the figures to be more realistic and something we all see in everyday life. I find nothing of interest in G1--I've watched a few episodes and found them to be dull. I have some figures and have seen reviews for others, and they all suck (admit it). As for my views on other lines: Beast Wars shouldn't even be called a transformers line, machine wars and the like don't even exist for me, RID had some really great molds as well as too many repaints, Armada's playschool figures were worse than G1 figures (at least G1 had realistic alt forms), Energon had unique and special gestaults and combiners but crappy individual figures, Cybertron had a cool show and great molds, although there were several that brought back nightmares of Armada, and the movie figures had some intense durability issues and a general lack of poseability, despite having great articulation. The classics line didn't have anything but goodness, and the new Universe line has some ups and downs, but is generally on the plus side. Anyway, I haven't read any transformer comics and don't intend on doing so, and I don't think entire movies should be based on a comic character when it could instead be based on a character we all know, such as Unicron or Primus. Besides, I think it's too big of a jump going from a few skirmishes on Earth in the first film to galactic battles with million-year old devils in the second one. They should've done a galvatron or a reign of starscream theme in the second film, while maybe going for the bigger jump in the third one. :tfgrr

Not to insult anyone, but football is a cruddy excuse for a sport (as are many sports). I prefer soccer, and my main thing is fencing :tfevil I dunno 'bout you, but I manage to do everything you said and find some time on the internet, so farg off.

Now that I'm getting off track, I might as well say that the two best films every made (in my opinion) are Forest Gump, and The Titanic.

I don't agree about Forest Gump, but I can understand how someone would find it a good movie.

Titanic though? I just saw it for the first time a few months ago. I had some spare time, and I thought I would rent it. Given that it's the highest grossing movie of all time I figured it was something I should see at least once. Long (and dull) story short, perhaps the single greatest waste of three hours of my life (and that includes waiting in line at amusement parks).

But yes, as a calm opinion, you are saying you don't like anything but Cybertron, and then saying that the TFs don't have good disguises. Um, the Cybertron toys are some of the most unrealistic disguises ever, and yet most people don't know of TFs.

as for transformers... we all know (& understand) most grievances with the movie but (imo) it was what it was: a big senseless flashy summer action flick that was the best thing to happen to TF's in a l-o-n-g time - i honestly don't believe we'd be seeing universe & animated doing as well as it has been without that michael bay's massive advert for the brand

Dude, seriously, I was drawing inspiration from the last round of movie discussion to make with the humor. Don't take it so personal.

 

You and I have a philosophical disagreement on how Starscream should be handled by Bay, but it's all opinion. Arguing forever and ever about which opinion is superior is just part of fandom participation. I honestly have nothing against you on a personal level, don't take stuff like this to heart.

 

Now, when the prototype of the new ROTF Starscream toy(s) leak(s), I expect you and I to throw down. Don't take that personally, either...no matter how much I point out how wrong you are.

 

EDIT 1: And to just show it really is all in good fun, I poked fun at myself in that post. I started one of the 30 page mass shifting threads. I'm as much a part of the problem as I am the solution.
