Well after 2 weeks on and off and more than 10 hours I haver my collection back up on shelves and more or less sorted by generations! I still have a crap load of carded KO's and other items to put up on display, but this is the first time I've had open room on my shelves and it feels good! So how often does everyone here go around sorting and cleaning up their displays?

I have a rather large collection of Transformers that take up an entire Ikea shelving unit. About 65 inches wide, a foot deep, and and four shelves. So it's pretty big, and although my room is HUGE, I still feel like it takes up too much of a presence. If that makes any sense. I would still like to display them in my room, but would like to class them up, so it doesn't feel like my room belongs to a 20 year old. High end comic shops always have their toys in beautiful displays that make the same toy look may more impressive. So my question is, has anyone else felt their collection appearance needed an update, and how they went about fixing it. thanks

Well, I've tried doing this a couple times. I'd really like to set up a gallery for my collection, and since I'm resetting my shelves, I figure nows the perfect time to start snapping pics. Here's my questions, and keep in mind I really don't know much about computers, but how do you do it? In the past I tried putting up pics one by one in the bulk uploader, but they never stuck. I also tried using a zip file, but, same thing. Is there a limit to the amount of pictures you can put in a gallery? Is there a way to do more then just put up a photobucket link? I'm gonna have 10 buttloads of pics to put up, and I just wanna know whats the best way to do it…

I bought Cybertron Mode Prime the other day. The plastic looks and feel high quality, but stuff keeps grinding down at an incredible rate, like the ball joints and the waist clip. Is there anyway to prevent this without NOT playing with the guy? I imagine making a protective coating on everything that grinds down in some way with super glue might work. The red plastic seems to be the problem, I think. To illustrate how bad his joints were before I did the super glue trick on them: He was floppier than my 10 year old Cheetor who had seen a LOT of play. And he didn't come that way, either. He was tight as all getout the first couple of times playing with him.

So i need to start putting my boxes of boxes up in the attic to get them out of the garage. i have many questions regarding this. I live in TX and the heat is my main concern. Will the heat warp or damage my boxes of (mostly) empty boxes? The boxes are stored in large cardboard boxes. should i remove them from those and use a more sturdier storage bin like this? I would feel safer if i put them into actual storage bins rather than keeping them in the boxes. i don't think i have any pests up in the attic that would eat through cardboard but i'd rather be preventative from the get go. i also think these would stack nicer than boxes. what do you guys think??

Good day! I was browsing the web when I saw this site... http://myglimpse.googlepages.com ...which offers astonishing travel images, but to my surprise the owner is silently keeping collections (w/ images) of Transformers, MazingerZ and VoltesV. Visit the site and you will never regret it!

I just started collecting a few weeks ago, and i have about 35 peices right now from energon. However this week ill be receiving a settlement check from a car accident for around 3,000$. needless to say, a portion of that will be dedicated to transformers. i plan on picking up God Ginrai reissue, predaking reissue, nemesis prime, galaxy convoy, and the 4 pack of black OP, black beast OP,black beast Meg, and black starscream, and whatever i come across that screams "BUY ME!!" Now heres my question... Id like to take them out of the box for display, and was wondering how badly this would decrease the value of them down the road, should i decide to sell my collection?

I have run into a slight problem with my TM Megs. The torso and the leg assembly no longer stay connected. I pulled them apart one day, and found the screw hole in the bottom of the torso had been stripped. Is there anyway to fix my Megs so he can become display again?

....can be great for a short video! ....okay....so I have little shame about spreading my vids.....but seriously, I always appreciate my collection more after taking them all off the shelves, giving them a dust down and then putting them all back, more so if I decide to change things up.

:tfevil When I was a kid i remember running to the tv room to watch Transformers. Hahaha to this day I still do. :thumb . But todays toys are unreal compared to the old ones. The older transformers figures are very limited in moving and posing ability. The newer transformers toys are becoming more and more flexable, also more challeging to figure out. Only if you do not look at the instructions. Transformers Armada is not a good example of what I am talking about. But Beast Wars/ Machines is, as is Transformers Robots in Desguise. (optimus is a fire truck). What I am getting at is that Transformers are a timeless collectors item. Being a collector it is ha…

I just had an idea and wondered if anyone else thinks it's a good one: If everyone makes one post in here (please don't ruin it and post more than once!*) and writes a list of their collection of figures (or whatever) and updates whenever they get new stuff, we could all have an easy reference-point for our collection? (With a link to your "photo" thread too?) *I'm not sure if there's a limit on post length, (anybody know?) If there is & you fill your first post, start a "part 2" post maybe? If this works, could a Mod pin it please? Just post a "holder" post for now & update when you're ready! :thumb » Click to show Spoiler - click agai…

With my parents splitting up and therefore neither parent can afford the house the TFormers must be moved. It is a shame that they have to be put in either their boxes or in boxes/shoeboxes. If there is a good way of keeping them safe without taking up much space please let me know.

Hey. I've got a massive amount of transformers, but no way to categorize the figures. I have folders with instruction manuals arranged by line and allegiance, but I have no way to categorize the figures themselves, or the figures without instructions or cards. So I was hoping that there's a site out there that allows people to put in their figures one by one and give them an up-to-date tally of their figures and maybe even an estimate as to what the collection is worth. Hopefully, this service might even be free. Does anyone know of such a site? Any help would be appreciated. I figured this would be an easier route to building my own site, as the whole intent is…

Hey everyone... I thought this might be useful, so I'm posting this here for any G1 collectors to use... It's a checklist broken down by year and separated by faction I have one printed out that I keep by my toys to check off as I surf and purchase off of EvilBay :P Now that I'm very close to completing my collection I keep the file highlighted to indicate what's left: all the ones I still need in Red and any that I have but are incomplete in Yellow. Anyhow, here's a link to it: Generation One Checklist Have fun checking stuff off!

I posted this here as well as the endcap, due to the quirkiness of my request... I thought maybe some of you MISB G1 guys might be able to help me out, or at least point me in the right direction... I need to find: A MOSC Throttlebot Chase. In Very good to Mint condition. Okay, now stop laughing, and let me explain... My ex-girlfriend's parents decided that our son needed to be named Chase. I protested, and because I didn't like the name, she decided to use it. :tard It's a long story, but the short version is that we're getting along alot better now, and Chase is a little past a year and a half old, and is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I've…
