General

All Transformers, all the time -- from Generation 1 to "Animated", Michael Bay's Transformers franchise, and beyond.

  1. Started by JustLOKIPLVY,

I almost posted this elsewhere but felt it ran way off topic from it's inital theme. This is more of a criteque about animation/comercialism than anything. Please don't take offense. I watched a handfull of eps from season 1, and then popped in an ancient VHS of M.A.S.K. from 85. I was blown away by the difference between the two almost imediately. Both were designed to be nothing more than a 20 minute comercial to push cool 80s transformable toys. Transformers may have had a stronger concept/idea but was beaten hands down in the animation catagory. Kenner may have had the inferior toy line but for an animated comericial it rocks. Plots were well scripted, and …

  2. Started by Deathmarch,

Everyone knows Waspinator gets scrapped, smashed, crushed, shot, and just plain slagged more than any other bot in history. So I was thinking... Maybe the reason Waspinator could take so much punishment and still live was that since he was possessed by Starscream's Indestructible Spark, it gave him a left-over residual effect of being able to survive extreme damage. Before being possessed by Starscream, Waspinator didn't get damaged nearly as much, sure he got injured and shot, but after the possession Waspy got brutalized a lot and survived it all. I haven't seen anyone say much on this. So what do you people think of that theory? Have a better one? Now I d…

Yo. This thread is about Transformers in general. It has been obvious that many of you are so uptight about what's going to happen with the TF movie, how well the next TF cartoon is going to do, how good will the new figures be, what sucks, what's terrible, how much hasbro reeks, etc. etc. I think we all need to step back for a second and just listen to ourselves. THESE ARE TOYS. TRANSFORMERS WERE CREATED FOR CHILDREN. WE NEED TO STFU. Seriously people, there is enough stress in life for all of us. We don't need to be adding more to it. Just be glad that there's a hobby for you to be involved with and take it as it comes. :thumb

  5. Any1 got high-res CR/RID brother pics? Specifically the 3D pics found on the CR packaging and any show pics. Not interested in toy pics. Thanx in advance

  6. I know I may take some flack for saying this but I'm glad that the new movie looks like it will be from Spike's P.O.V. and I just plain like Transformers with humans. I think RiD, Armada and Energon made some wrong turns with the concept, sure. But Transformers are robots in disguise and that just doesn't work unless they have someone to disguise from or a world to blend in with. Robots who turn into vehicles is a concept we see everywhere. What made Optimus Prime such a great hero, IMO, was summed up in his tech spec quote: "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings." Optimus Prime was not only an epic hero but humans represented the little guys that he was…

  8. This is just an interesting idea I came up with just now, so here we go... Optimus Prime -- Zeus Megatron -- Ares Soundwave -- Hades Blurr -- Hermes Seaspray -- Poseidon (MWA, HA, HA!) Hmm...I dunno. Sorta stuck right now, but you get the general idea.

When he shot Unicron and was then eviscerated, did he do it with the Reqiuem Blaster?...And if not, was he in possession of either the SkyBoom shield, or the StarSaber at the time?

A few times I have seen people express their fondness for G1 (myself included) only to be told by someone to take off the nostalgia glasses. For some reason I thought I should start a topic on that to clarifiy why (for me) it is impossible to take off those glasses. I love the G1 cartoon and comics to death and still do. Afterall it got many of us into Transformers. I do not know how it happened for me. I do remember watching the Transformers cartoon ever since I was little and could not even understand English. There was something awesome about talking robots who could also Transform. Sure there was also Gobots (which sucked) and I also remember a flash of Ro…
