General

All Transformers, all the time -- from Generation 1 to "Animated", Michael Bay's Transformers franchise, and beyond.

  1. I was just wondering how much one should fork out for him.

Just curious. I've heard that Meister has the roof, doors, hood, and rear panels in diecast metal. Are the other ones in the line similar in metal content? I ask because I'm getting a little sick of the lack of Alternators action in my part of the country (Aurora, CO) - In this past week alone have I finally spotted stuff like Hound and Dead End.

  3. Well? I would probably put my Transformers purchases somewhere around $7,000-$8,000 over the 9 years I have been seriously collecting them. I got pulled back in with the BM cartoon, and then the RiD toys sucked me in, and I've been addicted ever since. How's about ya'll?

  4. How much of the original TF movie do you watch? I tend to watch it up to Screamer's death or up to the point where the moons become a snack for Uni. Sometimes I watch the entire movie, though most of the times when I do watch it, I'm more listening than watching. What about the rest of you? -~¬,'

Just sparkin some discussion. How much longer til the 2nd golden age runs out? I was reading this discussion and it got me thinking. It's inevitable. Nothing is forever. Kids are fickle and we were all once kids. Those of you who 'grew out' of your toys for a time know what I'm talking about. :) Another toyline will come along and steal the thunder that Armada/Energon created. Pokemon's feverish popularity didn't last forever. What I forsee happening is that there will be a decline in TF popularity and it will come back again - with beasts. I don't doubt the cycle will repeat itself. I'm not lookin a gift horse in the mouth. I'm riding this wave of…

So, I'm getting the Boxed set, and I'm guessing that the Waspinator will end up being the "free" figure you get for showing up, so how much extra cash should I bring if I wanted to make sure I got all of the exclusives? I'm guessing Megs at the convention will run somewhere between $60-70, think $200'll do it? I want to make sure I can nab any of the extra "Dawn of Future's Past" figs, especially if they surprise us with Tarantulas/Scorponok/Terrorsaur to complete the first ep characters. Think we can get J.E. or one of the other convention planners to at least give us some estimate of how much we'll need to nab all the in-person exclusives this year? I'd hate to miss…

Been toiling with the idea of posting some stuff on Ebay, but don't really know how much they actually charge and all that. Those of you who have, what's the up's and down's of selling this way? BUYING I don't have much of a problem with. Hearing all sorts of silly "Get Rich Quick" scams on advertisements and such, which would be nice to make a decent chunk of change, heck if I made $150 a month selling extra junk it would pay my storage locker for a month. Thanks in advance any advice. I posted a Ebay HORROR story about a year ago, where I bought a box of TF junk, and it turned out that the jackarse who sent it used a old frozen meat paddy b…

Heya All, wasnt sure if there were any open BotCon topics going on right now but I do have a question concerning it. First of all I know there will probally be retailer upon retailers for what i'm looking for when i go(mainly G1) but my question is how much money do you think it would cost to get nearly all of the G1 stuff? There are somethings i know i wont shell $ out for at the show(which i am only going on saturday), like Fort Max, Scorp, or the other really expensive stand alone figures. Reason I ask is cause last year i had to sell off my collection due to financial difficulties and now that i am definately financially stable and have paid off or down my bills I…
