So..Some know me, or knew me..Some do not. Anyways, dropping what was and now starting something new..I figured I'd start showing off what I've been doing since my departure over at the other place. This is some commissioned work I did for IOIIOOO on said other site, and I kinda like it..A lot. Actually I want to keep it, but, alas, I cannot. So, a bit about these two figures.. The 20th Anniversary DVD Prime got new smokestacks, and a new paint job. Using Krylon Hammered Finish paint, as well as this little yellow bottle of this chrome paint stuff found at Walmart--Which looks really great in person..As well as some red Sharpie marker love to tint the windows and…

I've got a weird question. Does anyone have any tips for painting figures lighter colors, like specifically white, orange or yellow? I've done a handful of re-paints but the hues I normally use are military shades and extreme darks and metallizers. The one time I've tried to repaint a figure using mostly white...well, it was a dismal failure, and at this point the color itself is intimidating. I'm thinking about repainting the ROTF wheelsnake triplets completely and I just wanted to see if anyone has any tips they would like to share.

After my success with my first Thundercracker repaint, I decided to try one more. I used a darker blue this time, and deliberately went for a metallic look this time. The pics don't do it justice; the finish looks smoother in person than they do here. Unless Takara fixes the design issues with this mold, this will also be my last MP-03 repaint. I'm scared to transform it due to the poor wing-flange design; after just 5 careful articulations, the pin has cracked the joint very badly on one flange. I had hoped to do a Sunstorm repaint...:( The decals on the base are the ones sodawilly commissioned Repolabels for; kudos to both of them! The Decepticon labels are als…

Somewhere in an alternate universe, Hot Rod made a fatal mistake. His last words before plummetting to his death were "Wrong, Kup, they're our way in!" Bumble Bee was in the right place at the right time. He opened the Matrix as it hung chained to Galvatron's shoulders, lighting their darkest hour. He heard Optimus Prime's voice boom from within the Matrix: "Arise, Bumble Bee Prime!" The Reformat washed over his body and when it was complete, he was still half the size of everybody else. I started with Armorhide and a $3 die-cast VW microbus I picked up at Walmart. (The same company also makes a 1:24-sized bus so in the future I may use this as a model f…

Hey folks, This guy's been on my To-Do shelf for quite some time now, and I got a burst of inspiration the other day. You ever wake up from a nap and a robot's crotch is waiting in your mind, complete and perfectly formed? I had the blue-prints in my head and I just had to bang it out. I had been putting him off because I want him to be Just Right; the base figure is the same one I owned as a child, so we have history. His bed cover/backpack and tailgate are pinned on with a nail my dad used to fix him for me, something like 20 years ago. His waist is currently pinned loose so I can take it off for painting later. His head is also loose, awaiting neck articulation. …

after seeing that pic in the microman catalog I decided to make one of my own. so I started collecting parts: -G1 trailbreaker (I bought a POS with the head intact) -KO Soundblaster and got to work: he has two right arms so I'm trying to get that fixed atm... Since I ran out of double sided tape for my weird "Double Sided tape+paper+packaging tape" sticker idea, and I remembered I had CD labels so I printed them out onto that and stuck a layer of packaging tape on top to add some gloss. I also got the weapons+cassette peice+cassette eject button painted red and completely finished the stickers on the KO laserbeak! (btw, I forgot to take a before pic...again. …
