Upgrades

Hey guys, I needed to take a break from Alt customs just a bit. I finished the ads tonight and I repainted the billboard toy itself (I opted for the 'weathered' look; pics coming soon!) Thought I would share with you all: Alternators/Binaltech Billboard Blast I wanted to have a little fun with the ads . . . :tfevil The "Destron Oil" ad is the one I finished tonight (I think most of you saw the VW ad already). first up prowl: all i did was paint his hands to give the gloved look second Sunstreaker: reapainted arms and thighs...just wasnt happy with factory apps Third Bluestreak: went for g1 accuracy carbon fibered hood gave red eyes painted legs and arms and missle launchers last sideswipe: just swapped upper arms with streaker and placed a launcher on him

From the broken bricks of the old...to the gigantic construction of the new! I had the urge to build something out of lego and it occured to me that building on the scale of all my G3 models real didn't allow for complete, practical transformation schemes. So I broke a few up, thought a bit, started building and hey presto, Seekers! The title of the thread, Darkest Hour, is to do with the vague plot line I've come up with for these guys. I was originally going to make this mod and post pictures and stuff, but since I sold the bots already, I can't do so now... but it would be cool if one of you doods could do it and take pics. Basically, I noticed that E. Quickstrike had a very Prime-ish color scheme... I tried using Bendy Prime's head, but it was too small. However, E. Prime's head is a perfect fit. I was going to paint the head a darker blue to give him more of a neo-G1 feel, but I didn't want to ruin the only E. Prime head I had, hence my thread a while back looking for another E. Prime head. :redface When I did the head swap, he still transformed perfectly... and Prime looks really awesom…

My Alternators Runabout The only other thing I am going to add to him is red striping. After I finish that, I'll reshoot the gallery (I intend to reshoot all of my galleries and add more, eventually). Enjoy!

am i the only one that hates these hands with the Seaspray 3 three figures of doom . as i am working on a g1 sideswipe wanted something extra for him. so hands must be true . 1. lift hand (via ball socket ) 2. get a good light source 3. get blade and cut all the way inside the figure grove at the bottom p.s (keep pin in works easier thiss way on time) 4. when finished and the finger moves without the othe ones attached 5. cut the middle grove . 6 same as 4 here yippppppppee! a true hand repeat on the other for a pair of fully posable hands

Most of my Customizing has been done with Alts, Usually aiming towards maximum realism. (detailing wheel-wells, dashboards, enginebays, Etc..) One thing that I've wanted to do since getting my First SMOKESCREEN is to Fill-In the Hollow area(s) of his Inner thighs. Since then, I've seen several other Alts who could use some Filling-In too... (Sideswipe's Inner-Forearms, Hound's Inner Legs etc) I've read the IGTK and figured that some Modelers-Putty should do the trick, just wanted to see if any other TFans had tried a similar Modification with good results...Or bad. If anyone has tried this, Please post a brief description about 1) What to use (+ How) …

Idear I got, take Alt Ravage, since he's cheaper than Trcks, give him BW Rampages head, repaint in a metalic orange, redo the chest a bit, and call it good. Any one think it's a good idea?

well, i took one of the BT yellow tracks i have and just swapped heads... main reason i did this is because i have 2 extra ravage heads and am always needing "good" looking heads for other alts... and tracks will work nicely for another character. so... enjoy!
