Lego TFs: Darkest Hour

Recommended Posts

From the broken bricks of the old...to the gigantic construction of the new!

I had the urge to build something out of lego and it occured to me that building on the scale of all my G3 models real didn't allow for complete, practical transformation schemes. So I broke a few up, thought a bit, started building and hey presto, Seekers!

The title of the thread, Darkest Hour, is to do with the vague plot line I've come up with for these guys. It's a 'what if' based on the movie: What if Soundwave had been killed, therefore meaning Megatron was left to die in Autobot city, therefore no Galvatron, therefore Starscream became leader; what if Hot Rod was given the Matrix straight off and what if Unicron had been blown up so close to Cybertron that large parts of the planet were damaged beyond repair? The out come of all this is the Decepticons escaping to invade Earth and the Autobots rushing to stop them.

The models themselves, Starscream and Skywarp, are each over a foot tall. They transform completely (even the rifles don't detach), save for the nosecones which detach as a kind of flying gun thing. They are extremely posable, though their weight can be a problem. They have Robotech inspired backpacks replacing their intakes, sort of seekers built like Jetfire.

I'll do some better pictures when its not 8:00 am on a Sunday morning and I'm not being rushed off to a family party.

Very cool lego customs. Too bad Habro couldn't use this idea to it's full potential.

Those are AWESOME. It looks like with a bit of tweaking you could have a really good Skyfire as well.

Thanks all!

Satanstorm: The years of practice have finally paid off!  :tfgrin

Guld: Well, I certainly took elements of Skyfire/Jetfire into account! Unfortunatly, Jetfire is supposed to be much bigger than the Seekers...

Rodimus Prime, Blurr, Springer, an all new triple changer and more to come!

(When I've built 'em... :tfhuh )
