They're taking that straight from TF: Armada. It will be interesting to see how this whole thing turns out though.

That's an understatement...LOL! Powerlinking, Supermodes, and mini-cons...it was controversial enough in TF:Armada...don't know if they really want to go there in the movie!

 

And if that puppet we saw a while back is ravage...thought it looked too similar to Frenzy (oh well). But I'm very excited to hear about Devastator! Saw the pic of Long Haul...but need MORE NOW! :argh

It wasn't just in Armada, they combined in Energon and Cybertron as well, didn't they? So for many of the younger/newer fans, it's perfectly normal for Optimus and Jetfire to combine since that's a bulk of their exposure! Personally, I think it will be cool on film, and obviously to be used as a last effort to take on Devastator. Sweeeeeeeeet...

No. Jetfire and Optimus could only combine in Armada. Individually, they each could combine with other bots in Energon,but not to each other, and in Cybertron[/i] Potimus could only combine with Leobreaker or Wingsaber. He could not combine with Jetfire and Jetfire could not combine with anyone.

Intriguing... I wonder as well, as to how Optimus and Jetfire will look...

Maybe a super-armor mode or it'll give Prime an aerial advantage.

Seriously though, I can't wait...and if Meg's Tank mode is as the leaked images from last week. This movie holds some promise to it...eye candy wise, anyway :D

And ya know, I kind of overlooked the "GM Commercial" aspect of TF1 (partly because Bumblebee was the only one that made me think "GM" and partly because Barricade looked like a Ford), but they're making it harder now. It's getting a bit overly convenient that these Autobots all happen to turn into cars from the same manufacturer.
