I don't think the mold sprues line up that way. I mean, aren't the ankles and the wings the same color? You'd need to paint one or the other to get the parts to match. And that's just those two pieces. Never mind the light up hand not working since the clear plastic there is tied to his chest, stomach, and pelvis pieces. Eyes too, I bet. Means you've just negated his light up eyes and hand feature.

But the way they treat g1 w/ off color schemes(i.e- universe scourge, powerglide, etc.) I always end up spending more money & purchasing from Takara or e-hobby, b/c hasbro paint schemes always come out wrong. I think Hasbro does it on purpose, cuz dey saw the $700 billion dollar bailout on wall street & auto industry bailout, & want a piece of the pie!! :tflaugh

What I meant was that the characters represented aren't suppose to be coloured exactly like their G1 counterparts. Of course we'll have repaints, that's par for the course in ANY line.

Why wasn't Unicron redone to be more G1? Because, as Blot said, the plastic moulding doesn't allow for the colouring you suggested, and besides, Armada Unicron looks pretty G1 as he is.

 

Which is the point, anyway. Universe/Classics is for a "what if these guys came out now?" take on classic characters. Not for a "lets make them look all like 1984" take.

more to the point what on earth is wrong with the universe/classics cyclonus colours? i understand that powerglide is a horrible mess but cyclonus looks close enough for me (so does unicron imo)
