I found Oil Slick and Soundwave tonight at Target. Not going to do full reviews, but they're both fine, Oil Slick because of the head design, and Soundwave because of the transformation. I'd love a Voyager size Soundwave, mainly for better joints and a little better chest/head. Still need Jazz, and then the search is on for Galvatron.

Onslaught is great. I'm glad that he's an Ultra class toy. The only thing I wish he had was a siren sound effect that lasted longer. All Hasbro gave him was a short beeping sound that makes it look like he's pulling over speeder.

 

 

Powerglide. Well. Universe Powerglide is like the Shredder in the movie TMNT II. G1 Powerglide is normal Shredder and Universe Powerglide is the Shredder after he drank the ooze and became Super Shredder. Universe Powerglide is a clear example of over-designing. Okay, so G1 Powerglide isn't much, but he's a Minibot. Now that doesn't mean that a new Powerglide had to be huge, over-detailed, mis-proportioned beast!

Despite the complaints about Powerglide, I'm buyin' that bad-dog as soon as I see him (if my wife lets me). The A-10 Warthog is the baddest plane around, and the more TFs I can get w/ that alt mode, the better. It'll be cool to have Movie Wingblade and Universe Powerglide rolling in hot over some Decepticon activity. Hell yeah!

Onslaught is great. How can anyone look at him and call him plain? His shoulders are great, the false chest works wonderfully... abuot the only problem is the inflexibility in the hands, the wussy gun, and the feet.

 

Powerglide.. well, I might have almost broken him. I swear, getting his wings into position did major, MAJOR stress on the racheting joints, which refused to ratchet! Is this normal, or is it just mine?

Powerglide's legs are longer, a lot of people don't seem to be extending his shins enough.

 

And if you don't like the manboobs, that's your thing. It doesn't bother me.

I love when the fandom does this crap.

Maybe I just missed the hesitancy you are referring to. I seem to remember most folks saying how awesome he looked. The only negative I really heard about was about his size class.

 

I have the figure, and I absolutely love him. He is LOADS better than Onslaught, IMO. Onslaught's transformation is boring at best, while Powerglide's is intricate and fun. Are the colors DEAD-ON AKURAT to his G1 namesake? No, but damn, what a fun transformer. And I don't really understand what folks are complaining about kibble in his jet mode, he seemed pretty streamlined to me. :shrug
