i think i understand MISB collecters now...

Recommended Posts

MISB Collectors just seem to me as those who view collecting as a way of making money in the future, not like the out of box on display and played with as they are meant to be types. To me keeping them in the box is like getting a Lamborghini and wrapping it up in bubblewrap and never turning on the engine.

fixed, nobody in their right mind would buy a mini cooper.

Some people, like me, just like the way MISB stuff looks. I don't ever plan on selling my stuff.

I would. I did some go-kart racing last week, and I think MINI racing would be a blast. And also, the next step up from go-karts.

:pfx

And if I ever did plan on selling it I would at least get my money back for what I spent on it. Really though I just like the toys in their display packages. Its like walking down a toy store isle and knowing all the toys are yours! Its a nostalgia thing for me I guess.

i figured out this MISB mystery...

think of it like hunting.... they search the store looking for their quarry, they purchace and make the kill, and it's already stuffed and mounted for the wall... forget the meat.

i can think of at least one advantage to misb. they're never disappointed by qc issues or a toy that fails to meet expectations... it just stays in the box and they have the joy of imagining what they could be doing with it rather than the dissapointment of... cybertron soundwave and his sucky knees or overspray paint app on animated grimlock...

This is all too true. I can just imagine how floppy my Titanium Rodimus Prime would be in my unforgiving hands...

See I disagree with this statement. I have many many open figures, and I enjoy them that way. Some though are so nice and rare that you want to have another pristene. I have alot of MIB/MSIB figures as well. I don't keep them that way for the sake of a value increase as I have no intent on selling them. I have them that way for the figures.

Having 2 G1 Omega Supremes isn't for resale sake, it's for Omega's sake.

Now I know alot of people get them to resell them. But I get them cause they're alive out of the package, and safe within and I'm looking for the best of both worlds. It makes for a noteworthy collection.

Take a look

I enjoy my figures, both loose and boxed.

Oh, and has anyone else noticed, no wire ties on the Crossover Figs

Yeah, but a side pannel fell off my RID Prime, and a leg on my BW Inferno. Even though it's an easy fix, it'd destroy the packaging trying to get in there and slap the pieces back on.

It's one of the reasons why I love the Takara packaging.
