While I do like some Autbots, I love the the decepitcons. Ruthless, for themselves, powerful, way better color schemes and faction symbols and the three original G1 seekers! I think the signature says it all.

Well, y'know the old saying: bad guys make life interesting for the good guys!

And vice versa. :) Basically we need to have at least two sides in order to have a conflict.

Autobots/Maximals = Protagonists

Decepticons/Predacons/Vehicons = Antagonists :tmyk

Some of us may prefer one side over the other but storywise both sides need each other in order to provide conflicts to drive stories - and Transformers has always been a story of conflict. It's not as if anyone has ever written any detailed stories about Transformers during peacetime. Such periods are only ever mentioned in passing (e.g.: The Golden Ages, Pax Cybertronia etc). Not that I would necessarily object to TF stories written in peacetime... but I'm not sure if having Transformer soap dramas would be a terribly exciting prospect for most people and it would arguably not be a terribly good formula to sell action toys (primarily marketed at boys). :P

Even Go-Go-Go-Bots still had conflicts despite the fact that they had no bad guys. They only had "naughty" Transformers that needed correcting. :)

Are you talking about your avatar? Cos I don't see any image on your signature.

:tmyk In G1 the Decepticon jets were officially known as "Sky Raiders". The term "Hunter Seekers" was a term created by fans on the ATT newsgroup (circa 1994-95). "Seekers" entered official currency when it was used by Dreamwave Productions in their retro-G1 series.

...and knowing is half the battle! :)

Actually...

I've just been reading IDWs rerelease of the Marvel G1 comics, and the term Hunter Seeker is quite clearly used in the issue "The Smelting Pool."

Not to argue with you or anything. :P

Although if this was an IDW editorial change I don't know, as I don't have the originals.

I won't vote for no 4 wheelin' goody two shoes that cain't fly!

Powerdasher, Powerglide, Jetfire, the Aerialbots, Sky Lynx, Omega Supreme, Cosmos, Whirl, Swoop, Blades, Springer, Broadside, Sandstorm, Highbrow, Brainstorm, Cloudraker, Scattershot, Strafe, Raindance, Cloudburst, Phoenix, Sky High, Doubleheader, Crossblades, Skyhammer, the Air Patrol, Phaser, Blastmaster, "Autobot Leozak", Rotorstorm, Deftwing, Autobot Cyber-jets, Energon Bulkhead, Skyblast, Evac, Vector Prime, Mini-Con Thunderblast, Wing Sabre, the Clear Skies Team, Metalhawk, Fortress Maximus, Grand Maximus, Mach, Wing, Sixwing, Star Sabre, Victory Leo, Galaxy Shuttle, Sonic Bomber, Fly-Up, Tracks, Road Rage and Galaxy Convoy would care to disagree with you about that flightless Autobot thing. :P

...and I whole lot of Decepticons without flight modes like the Constructicons, Stunticons, Barricade (G1 and movie)... you get the idea. ;)

How long did this take you?

yeah but those hunter-seekers are a different sub-class of Decepticons from the Sky-Raiders. The term "Sky Raiders" came from the G1 Marvel comics. Other continuities didn't really have a specific name for them beyond "Decepticon jets." :P

e.g.: Ferak is a Hunter-Seeker whereas Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker are Sky-Raiders - whom fans later called "Seekers." I'm not sure if that's meant to imply that they're in the same class as the G1 Hunter-Seekers... but the use of the term "Seekers" in reference to the Sky-Raiders was initially fan usage (really originated from some American toy catalogue but entered common currency via the fandom).

while more of my favourite characters seem to be decepticons my favourite toys are mostly autobots but I guess that's because they seem to make more autobot toys then decepticons
