Um...it's not real. There's no point in "rooting" for anyone because it's all at the mercy of the writers, who will invariably make the Autobots the ultimate winners because it is a children's property.

But most of the characters I find to be most interesting are Autobots, so I probably own more of them, if that's what you're asking.

I cant remember ever watching Transformers and thinking "man I hope the bad guys win."

except in A/E/C when I was hoping that Unicron would eat everyone, then self-destruct.

It's not really have to be based on show only. The judgment could be based on several aspects, like toys, shows, comics, etc. Because I'm fully aware that, expecting bad guys to ultimately win is futile.

I can't vote because I can't really say I "root" for one side over the other.

With the exceptions of Blitzwing (always), the Insecticons (most of the time), Starscream and various Seekurz/flyers (ditto), and Megatron (sometimes) I can't really say I give a squat about the Decepticon characters. Most of my "favorite" characters are on the Autobot team.

Now, if we're talking about Predacons vs. Maximals...

EDIT: G1 Blitzwing DID rule the battlefield at my house, though. The Autobots on my little brother's team were always "OMG! HE'S A FIGHTER JET AND A TANK! WE'VE HAD IT NOW, FELLAS!"

I had a lot more Decepticon toys... probably just because they looked cooler. But that's always the way.

Autobots. I dunno why exactly, but most of my fav characters are autobots (excluding Blitzwing and the seekers) also, being a child-like-person, I feel the good guys should ultimately :win.

In animated, anyway.

<roots for the cons. knows the bots will win every year. :shrug

Same.

Though in BM I actually found myself agreeing with the :bmcons

I always love the villains more than the heroes. They are always cooler and more interesting.

Decepticons for the win.

Then why bother with it in the first place? Emotional attachment to a story involves rooting for the character. Take Armada Starscream. When he was on the Autobots you found yourself hoping that he would remove the purple Deceptibrand and change to Autobot. Though in the back of your mind you knew he was gonna be snotted by Galvatron you still rooted for him. Take Beast Wars Yes the Maximals won the battle but as evidenced by the start of Beast Machines they lost that war..

If you have no involvement and reduce it down to writers etc.. then there is no point to watching.
